    Whats wrong with ortiz?

I dont understand this guy. Im a huge fan and believed his showing against maidana was a one off. But last night he seemed very hesitant to fight peterson. Ortiz was great in round 3 but after that he seemed to want and run around the ring like a girl. He had zero determination to win and didnt even seem bothered he got a draw. The guy has some serious issues, I think he's similar to jermain taylor in the fact he doesnt love boxing or have what it takes to perform when under pressure. I think he needs to be dragged out of his comfort zone and away from his pitiful coach in cali. maybe a change up to manny steward in detroit would do him good? They train hard and have a rough tough view of boxing up there in the motor city and I think it will give ortiz more hunger to suceed from now on.

Has it ever occurred that the guys he's struggled against happen to be good?

Victor Ortiz's personality is weird. One of those Oscar De La Hoya characters. He has great talent, speed, and power. But his personality and heart (or the lack thereof) will not make him an elite fighter.

              Frustrating....very frustrating.

Ortiz is very talented....the problem with this it's all mental. It's hard to pin-point what exactly is wrong with him. Lack of killer instinct? Maidana trauma? Gun shy?

in the post fight presser he said that he taught he was winning by huge margins and just got lazy. i think ortiz is ****en lazy fighter after the maidana. throws a couple of punches and thinks he wins the fight. i like the angry Ortiz more then the boxer ortiz.

he relies too much on his power without using his brain to work the knockout,or just box smartly.

his mind is a bit ruined by maidana loss. afraid of going in close and getting tagged now.

didnt use his jab, didnt throw the right combinations, struggled with the taller peterson.

he got good skills, but seems mentally weak. needs a top trainer to sort him out.
