I was reading the Ring magazine and in their top 100 they have Lucian Bute at 17. I have no problem with that but the writer goes on to say that "It's hard to have a better year then Bute had.His wins over Librado Andrade(KO 4)
Edison Miranda(ko3) and Jesse Brinkley(ko9) were as good as anything anyone did in the super six tourney"...........Do you agree with this?

That isn't as big of a reach as you might think........

Bute had a better year than Ward IMO because Miranda is better than Green and Bika is on par with Andrade.

Froch lost but did have a dominating win over Abraham.


Johnson-lost to Cloud and KO'd Johnson....so Johnson didn't have a better year

Dirrell- Bute had a better year just off of the strength he was more active.

Kessler beat Froch....but has since been inactive.



So if you are looking at the best win....then I would have to say Kessler's win over Froch and Froch dominating Abraham. If we are talking about a better year.....then it's Bute based on how dominating he was over solid opposition as well as his activity.

well, i sorta agree...AA was held as the top guy to beat in this touney...it was him or ward..but we came to find out AA aint no better than a ****in andrade...he lacks boxing skills overall man, i hate to admit it but it is what it is...

Foch dominating AA alone beats the wins by Bute
Bute talented but his comp is not good
Andrade win looked good, he hadn't been hurt or stopped before
looked even better since he was robbed by Bute ref before

I think Wards wins are overrated as hell.

Green got dominated in a more impressive fashion by an old @ss Glen Johnson as well as getting beat by Miranda a guy Bute dominated.

Bika is solid...but Bute already beat him.

Sorry but if any of the top 4 guys fighting in the super 6 fought Miranda Andrade or Brinkley i guarantee they would be 3-0 and look great. Im not saying that Bute isnt a top guy at 168 but to say his 3 wins is better then a win over one of those top guys is ridiculous to me.

Stopping Andrade is more impressive to me than S6 participants wins.

Not really.

The Brinkley fight was nothing but a sparring session. The Miranda win was ok, but not that good since Miranda had already been pwned numerous times before.


The Andrade win was solid cuz' Andrade is a beast who basically got robbed in the first fight of a k.o. Not only that but he took everything Kessler had for 12 rounds and didn't even flinch so for Bute to hurt him like that showed true power.

Regardless of that though, people aren't dumb, they can sense a world class guy when they see one and Bute is being given these props based on this intuitive knowledge.

Please explain how Ward or Dirrell had a better year than Bute. Also Froch lost and his best win (Abraham) is about even with Bute's win over Adrande.
