Comments Thread For: Vitali Klitschko Fires Back at Dereck Chisora's Claims

WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko has issued his response to the claims coming from Brtish heavyweight Dereck Chisora and his promoter Frank Warren. Vitali's younger brother Wladimir Klitschko was going to make a defense of his IBO/WBO/IBF titles against Chisora on Saturday at the SAP Arena in Germany. An abdominal injury, suffered Wednesday, forced Wladimir to withdraw from the contest.

as someone who pulls against both Klitschko brothers constantly...

there is no reason to think Wlad was faking anything. If he says he's hurt, he's hurt. He has never missed a fight due to injury. no reason he would start now. As to the idea that he was somehow scared of Chisora...HAHA

Exactly. Chisora is just trying to get a little news by running his mouth.

If the Haye fight gets made then no-one can complain. Haye and Wlad get the fight they want and Chisora makes a name for himself.

Vitali should just retire and let Wlad stand on his own 2 feet

I was with you until you said Vitali should retire? Vitali has never been legitimately defeated in the ring, why should he retire? Maybe when he loses a round I could see him going away, but he hasnt lost a round in 6 years. Dude should fight till he doesnt want to. Its not like hes taken much of a pounding in his career except in one fight. he's never even taken a punch hard enough to knock him down.

Honestly, I'm not even sure why Vitali bothers answering this... does anybody on earth, apart from Dereck Chisora believe that WK was afraid of losing to this newbie? Really?

Wlad's produced medical reports on the injury, unlike the excusemaker in 09.

I wouldnt be surprised if when Chisora gets his shot it is against Vitali not Wlad.
