Despite Hopkins's whining about being robbed, he knows he lost the fight because, just like with Eastman, he tried to fight while riding his bike. In order to win the belts back, he will have to come after Taylor. If he rides his bike for 8 rounds again, he will lose again, in his third boring ass fight in a row. (really 4th, but at least there was a KO in the DLH fight. Other than that, it was boring as ****).
If he comes forward, he has a pretty good chance, though I think the next ref will be watching him even more closely for fouls. I don't know, despite his excellent (as always) conditioning, if he has the legs to take the punishment that Taylor will deliver if he comes forward, or the reflexes to both punch and avoid t the same time. I know he doesn't have the power to KO anyone except a flabby DLH.

Taylor will be over the nervousness of fighting a beloved champion for the first time, so he won't be as drained. I think (hope) he has also learned that he can't chase a man on a bike or he will wear himself out. He should let Hopkins run all he wants, cut him off, pop him a few times, get out of the way and let him run some more.
If Hopkins chooses to come forward, it just plays into Taylor's hands, since he's younger, stronger and faster than Hopkins. He will get hit some, but Hopkins doesn't exactly have devastating power, and he shouldn't get hit enough for accumlation to wear him down.

I don't think Talyor will ever have the power to take Lacy. If he steps up or Lacy steps down, Taylor loses, period. Lacy is just as fast and considerably stronger.
When Andre Ward matures as a fighter, the only edge that Taylor *might* have is professional experience. Ward appears to be faster and a little stronger. I think, a couple of years from now, Ward takes Taylor in a good fight to watch.

In answer to the original question, I think JT stops at SMW. He may be able to carry the weight for LH, but Lacy will be there.
Wont completely argue, but Hopkins is the master of cheating, too smart, ya gotta remember, and i dont care what he says, b-hop wuz nervous too, i'm sure the media had him a little scared, once he realized how easy it wuz to hit Taylor, he made his run, and i believe dominated, as far as him being boring, he fights smart, not ****** mayb slow, but technicall, but i never underestimate the heart of a up and coming young buck

Any 40 year old would fight boring because once you get older you have to change your style cuz your not a young gun anymore. He fights boring, but smart, I love the fact how he can pick out a fighter's bad tendencies. What a smart cookie.

Yeah, but even before Bhopmania swept the boxing world as he approached his 20th defense, and defeated Tito, he was boring as ****. There's a reason that 1) he fought in relative obscurity for so long and 2) he was able to extend his career so long. That reason is, he has ALWAYS fought boring, technically brilliant fights.
All props to the man for holding the title so long, he's certainly a brilliant boxer to watch, which is the only thing that keeps him from being the Ruiz of the Middleweight division.

Personally I think he will fight for a few more years at middleweight then start to moveup. I think he'll end up at light heavyweight.

I think he will probably stay at his weight and be the king for many years to come.

If he moves up to LHWs, he'll probably get KOed.

Ward vs Taylor will be a great match down the road.

not far after the rematch with hopkins. taylor lost that match, period. as good as hopkins is in rematches, taylors title days are numbered. if he recieved a gift decision over the best p4p fighter today, what makes you think he can get gift decisions all his career (like DLH or ruiz)?

I really like JT and I believe he will end up at LHW eventually but unfortunately will end up KOed by Jeff Lacy when he gets there.

I'm still waiting for the rematch. I want to see what B-Hop does when he thinks he has something to prove. It was obvious he thought he could outbox JT.
