Personally I think he will fight for a few more years at middleweight then start to moveup. I think he'll end up at light heavyweight.
Hes probably going to lose the rematch against Hopkins. I see him going to LH though.Comment

Originally posted by KelenekiYup. I can't wait to watch this happen in the rematch. This is probably the last fighter that Hopkins is going to ruin before he retires?
After he puts Taylor to shame, he will move up and retire the winner of Jones/Tarver.
Then as he retires he can go down in history as the man who retired
the last two fighters he faced before he did, that is just pure hall of fame glory right there!Comment

Taylor wins the rematch easily, but vacates the MW division when Lacy moves up to LH or Andre Ward challenges for the title.
Despite Hopkins's whining about being robbed, he knows he lost the fight because, just like with Eastman, he tried to fight while riding his bike. In order to win the belts back, he will have to come after Taylor. If he rides his bike for 8 rounds again, he will lose again, in his third boring ass fight in a row. (really 4th, but at least there was a KO in the DLH fight. Other than that, it was boring as ****).
If he comes forward, he has a pretty good chance, though I think the next ref will be watching him even more closely for fouls. I don't know, despite his excellent (as always) conditioning, if he has the legs to take the punishment that Taylor will deliver if he comes forward, or the reflexes to both punch and avoid t the same time. I know he doesn't have the power to KO anyone except a flabby DLH.
Taylor will be over the nervousness of fighting a beloved champion for the first time, so he won't be as drained. I think (hope) he has also learned that he can't chase a man on a bike or he will wear himself out. He should let Hopkins run all he wants, cut him off, pop him a few times, get out of the way and let him run some more.
If Hopkins chooses to come forward, it just plays into Taylor's hands, since he's younger, stronger and faster than Hopkins. He will get hit some, but Hopkins doesn't exactly have devastating power, and he shouldn't get hit enough for accumlation to wear him down.
I don't think Talyor will ever have the power to take Lacy. If he steps up or Lacy steps down, Taylor loses, period. Lacy is just as fast and considerably stronger.
When Andre Ward matures as a fighter, the only edge that Taylor *might* have is professional experience. Ward appears to be faster and a little stronger. I think, a couple of years from now, Ward takes Taylor in a good fight to watch.
In answer to the original question, I think JT stops at SMW. He may be able to carry the weight for LH, but Lacy will be there.Comment
