From what I've noticed, Pacquiao is only known/famouse for a few things...

1. That fighter who refused a drug test.

2. That fighter who won a bunch of titles, and refused a drug test.

3. The LIL Asian fighter that won a bunch of titles, but refused a drug test.

4. The LIL Asian dude who went up all those weight divisions, and in a short period of time and destroyed much bigger guys. But refused a drug test.

5. The guy Mayweather was scared to fight, cause he refused to take a drug test...

The words (Drug Test) will be Mannys *, until ofcourse he takes the test (And performs at the same level)...

noway not even close. hes not more famous than ali foreman tyson mayweather chavez lenord oscar. those guys man ppl mothers and grandmothers know those names. manny is popular in the boxing and sports world. but outside of it not so much. go to a random persons mom or aunt or someone who dont watch boxing and im sure they wont know who manny is. but ask about the other names and they would. but the fact that hes only been growing to that status after the oscar fight is the case too. ali been generating his populairty for decades

Which is really the point at the end of the day. Twenty-thirty years from now, Pacquiao will be in that position while the majority of kids growing up today will ask "Who's Ali?"
