Couple of things

Both fighters will take a "tune-up" fight and Cotto's will be Marg, thats a tough tune up

What if cotto loses to Marg, will the fight still happen in sept

If they fight in march there will be no tune-up. They will go in there with each other

I give Cotto a good chance against Sergio... If you look at their styles, serg will always be open to Cotto's left hook everytime serg throws his right. He also has the habit of extending forward his right hand when warding off an opponent; tailor made for Cotto's left hook.

Cotto/Margarito rematch I believe will be the same as the first fight. Plaster or no plaster, margarito showed his stamina during the Pac fight. He will overwhelm Cotto with his incessant come forward style. Cotto always runs out of gas after 6 to 8 rounds. Look at his last three fights before Foreman. If however, Cotto maintains his stamina to the last round, I see him winning by UD.

Margarito/Serg will be war but I think the outcome will still be the same as the first fight.

My honest Opinion.

Great Post, I feel the same about Cotto Martinez and Cotto Margarito.

If Cotto fights Martinez he will have time to think and strategically fight which is his gameplan most of the time. If Cotto fights Margarito I think it will go the same just based on a stylistic clash. Cotto cant handle heavy pressure. Only way for Cotto to win against margarito is to plan to box for 12 rounds without running out of gas or develop a clinching game similar to shane and just lead up wollops

This is all talk because after Cotto/Margarito both fighters will totally be done. Their already beat down. Arum is using Martinez to promote Cotto/Margarito. They'll probably knock each other out.

He doesn't need Martinez to sell Cotto vs Margarito II. That fight has enough of a storyline to sell itself. If anything, it's helping Martinez fight the winner just as much as vice versa.

This is ******. Martinez Cotto makes sense now. Martinez's "tune up" should be Cotto. He deserves a bigger payday (but not huge to where his ego gets out of control like Pacquiao and Mayweather) and then fight harder fights that are in his division later.

The Cotto Margarito fight is always there.

It's also ridiculous that this would be on PPV.

I would rather see the fights in the order you placed them. and ppv for cotto vs the cheater... not buying it im not contributing a single cent to margarito
