I have no quarrel about Martinez getting a payday. I, myself, wanted Pac to fight the PWill-Martinez winner prior to Pac's fight with Margarito so as to establish his claim for top-3 ATG status.

However, we have seen how Pac suffered from the Margarito fight, despite re-configuring Marg's face. That's because Pac is not content to just win on points; he needs to wage war to entertain fans. His style is punishing to himself, not only to his opponents.

This is why Pac and his team (Roach, Arum and Ariza) were all unanimous in stating on the record right after the Margarito victory that that would be his last fight above 147.

Everyone knew about this decision even before we knew who was going to win between Sergio and PWill. Which is why it is surprising to hear people whine about Pac's refusal to fight Martinez at 154. If Martinez wants the payday, he cannot get it on his terms. He must get down to 147. It is what it is.

Sometimes fans get too greedy and they forget the fighters, even great ones such as Pacquiao, have limitations too.

I didn't hear about this, so I can only take your word. They should've never opened the door for this discussion, but I think the commission and Arum already had the 8th title in mind and probably didn't think of the backlash from fans.

1.) Manny Pacquiao is a coward for claiming to be an 8-division champion, and yet being too scared to EVER fight an actual JMW oppenent.

2.) Manny Pacquiao is also a coward for ducking Mayweather back in December, either that or he is a steroid cheat. He didn't want none of Mayweather or the tests, thats for sure.

3.) Manny Pacquiao is also a coward for ducking Sergio Martinez. If JMM can go up two divisions to WW, then surely Manny can defend his JMW title at 154. What a b1tch Manny.

There are two reasons to demand a catch-weight, either you are not good enough to compete with that fighter at his natural weight, which is fine..... or you are attempting to drain him to gain an unfair advantage, which is cowardly. Team Pacquiao tried to drain Cotto, because Manny had already fought at 147.

5.) Manny Pacquiao is also a coward for ducking Shane Mosley - TWICE !!

6.) And Manny "padded" Pacquiao is also a dirty coward for refusing to fight Marquez unless the fight is held at 147.

It's in the post-fight interviews and days after. Let's face it, the 8th title is window-dressing for the Pac-Margarito fight, plain and simple. If you want to disregard it, feel free to do so. It doesn't diminish Pac's accomplishments in any way, IMO.

Ariza actually blamed Pac not following his regimen as the reason why he got beat up. He and Jinkee were helping Pac on his feet during Mass the next day. It was the worse condition I ever saw him in, hence my reversal on wanting to see him fight Sergio.

Edited to add: However, if Pac didn't suffer that much from the Margarito fight, I firmly believe that he and Roach would've found the Martinez challenge alluring due to the possible 9th weight division title.

I stated several times that Marquez should NOT be going up to 147 to fight if he can't.
I stated several times that Manny should NOT be going up to 154 to fight if he can't.

Is the above clear enough for you?

I don't know what you were reading but I even made it clear that we all want to see a fight that is fair. At least I do..... AND that I didn't even want to see Manny fight Marquez as that would be the easier fight according to the options he has available right now.

So from my other posts and this one now, how can you come to the conclusion that I said it's OK for Marquez to come up at 147? Marquez does NOT belong at 147. He definitely didn't against someone who came in at 147, such as he did with Floyd and he doesn't now.
