In all fairness to martinez. He went winless last year - unfairly - and made much less money than he should have.

I don't want anyone to tell me that he shouldn't be looking at the high $ fights because they have been defending that same mentality from Pac.

I have no problem with a 35 year old who just fought Williams - Pavlik-Williams to pursue a couple of high profile fights.

No problem should have a problem with that.

He should go for it I agree, and even though I don't think none of those high profile fighters will fight him. I hope that I am wrong and one of them decides to step up to the plate.

My issue now is with some these Floyd ****riders who are in here saying Martinez speaks the truth Pac fought a shot Cotto but yet Martinez wants to fight Cotto. There is nothing wrong with that because I don't think Cotto is shot but I don't think Cotto can win a round against Martinez. But, how can you applaud him for saying what he said about Cotto but then turn a blind eye for him wanting to fight Cotto? Because, he is more negative towards your favorite fighter main rival right now?

Again no problem with him going for the high profile fight. My issue is if you can't get them then take on the best possible opponent. Legit threats who are willing to fight you, don't ignore them and then have negotiations with lesser fighters.

I just find it hilarious that a lot of Floyd fans are jumping on this dude **** when they didn't give 2 shits about him a year and a half ago.

I am a Martinez, I been one since Oscar demanded the WBC to take him off his mandatory status. And, I have no problem with what he is saying.

However, I find it hilarious that he would call Cotto shot. And, Floyd fans are in here chanting he speaks the truth. And, yet want to fight him at a catch-weight of 155.

I find it hilarious that he would act like he don't know who Dzinziruk and Pirog are and not even try to negotiate with them just cuz "he doesn't know who they're" but at the same time negotiate with Andy Lee.

All this is just funny to me cuz he speaks more negative towards Pac so people want to jump on his **** now. If he would of spoke more negative towards Floyd. These same mofos who are on Martinez **** would be saying how overrated he is. Just like how the extremist Pac fans are treating Martinez...

This whole thing about fans caring so much about one fighter opinion about another said fighter is just ridiculous.

But, all and all I like Martinez, I hope Pac and Floyd would step up to the plate and fight him at 154+. But, they won't, not after the P-Will performance. Maybe if Martinez doesn't look so hot in a fight they would jump up. Or if they fight him at a weight that would suit them more so than Martinez they will. But, I don't see neither one of them stepping up to the plate in the near future.

Martinez isn't negotiating an Andy Lee fight, Lou Dibella is. Lou Dibella gets the proposals or negotiates a fight, and after all that presents them to Sergio and his adviser or manager, so he can pick, just like every other fighter that has options (very few actually have options).

HBO is willing to give us X amount for a fight against opponent A. We talked to his promoter and they'd take a 30% split. HBO is willing to give us X amount for a fight against opponent B. We talked to his promoter and they'd take an X split. All this is presented to Sergio afterward, so he doesn't necessarily have to know who Andy Lee is at all. Dzinzurik has 1 fight on US TV and it was on a subscription cable channel, Pirog has 1 on US TV and it was on a PPV. I don't expect anyone this side to know who they are or what they look like unless they're hardcore fans.

I don't care about that... I don't think it change the outcome of the fight.

If P-Will would of fought Martinez at 160 and not 158 would the out come have changed? I don't think so...

From the reports I got when Cotto weighed 146 against Clottey in the fight prior he was laughing it up after the weigh-in. While Clottey who weighed 147 was drinking gallons of water. To me that proves who had more problems making 147. I don't think Cotto was drained or had that much trouble making 145.

The Margarito catch-weight crap was BS. The other Cotto fight legit in my book.

I remember when Figueroa came on LEFTY's show and Figueroa spoke about making weight saying (Don't remember word for word) "When it comes to losing the last 2-3 pounds...those 2-3 pounds are a mother fucker to get rid of". Thats why I never understood when people say "It's only 2 pounds!".
