I love this fight to push through and the winner gets to have a shot at vengeance with margarito.
The reason why Martinez wants to fight Cotto and called out his name personally is because Cotto will bring in the dollars. The whole party will be payed for by Cotto and his fan base.

Dibella will get 2.5 mil while Martinez at least 4 mil. I think it is fair enough given that Martinez is unknown to casual fans. Blame Dibella not Arum if fight wil not happen.

As a Cotto fan, I don't like a Martinez fight for him at this point in his career. I think Martinez's size and speed would be too much for Cotto to deal with. I think a Margarito fight makes more sense both financially and from a vindication opportunity point of view. Having said that, it makes sense for Martinez from a risk-reward standpoint. I think both Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams were bigger threats, but they didn't bring anywhere near the amount of $$$ that a Cotto fight would bring.

              yes please!

I want to believe that this is true and that promoters pride does not stand on the way of professionalism. This fight is a great opportunity for both Cotto and Martinez. Martinez could get a victory over one of the greatest recent champions and a lot of name recognition. Cotto could get back in the line for fights against Pacquiao and Mayweather and clinch a (to be sincere fake) 4th weight title.

wait, so martinez can fight for money but no one else can?

and why is martinez picking on smaller fighters?

also why is martinez picking on a bum like cotto? didn't margarito and pac already beat his ass?

Arum has always been the one to force Cotto to wear lip stick and pluck his eyebrows while Uncle Bob holds that leash around Cotto's neck with a pimp hat on saying to Cotto, "Fight Michael Jennings or else." I know this may sound harsh, but it's true. Lol. Cotto has a good resume and all that, but why doesn't Arum ever let him go after a fight that would've made him a linear champ. Just like the Paul Williams thing. I know Williams was high risk and he wasn't a draw and all that. But after Williams beat Margarito and Cotto was #1 after beating Mosley, if Cotto would've taken that fight he could've claimed the right to being a lineal champ. And now Arum is blocking him out of another opportunity. Miguel needs to stick up for himself instead of letting Arum walk all over him and tarnish his legacy.

The truth, Cotto have more fans base than Martinez. He`s been on the spotlight much longer than Martinez.
