So, Manny Pacquiao (Team Pacquiao Actually) have NO problems in asking a long time 154lbs fighter (who aslo had one fight at 160lbs...Oscar De La Hoya) to come down to a weight he hasn't fought at since 2001 (147lbs), and then requesting two WW fighters (Mosley and Cotto) to come in under the the WW limit. Now they want Marquez to come up to 147lbs?

The point is, Manny demands that JMM go up two divisions to welterweight, and yet he won't even fight a real JMW and defend his title.

Why would a P4P fighter ask for a catch-weight in his own division?

Marquez is the only P4P legend going up 2 divisions, 4-divisions from his career-long best, to fight prime P4P#1 and P4P#2 opponents.

I hope history reflects that.

It was Delahoya who challenge the "little guy" Pacman who just won at 135lbs from Diaz and ask for the fight at 147lbs.....Delahoya cherry-picked Pacman!

The "Little guy" Pacman asked two legit welterweight (Cotto and Clottey)to fight within the welterweight limit of 141-147lbs!!!....remember, under the welterweight limit is 140lbs....just think wisely before you open your mouth!

Marquez doesn't need to come up to 147lbs.....he could fight at any weight he is comfortable at as long its not over 147lbs!

Dude, seriously. What I'm saying is not complicated at all. You understand purse splits don't you? The greater drawing power gets the larger piece of the pie. A Mayweather/Pacquiao fight would be closer to 50/50 than anything else, why? Because they're both huge draws.

Negotiations for things like weight, ring size, glove size, works the same exact way.

It is there to level the playing field when the heavier fighter fights a smaller fighter. All catchweights are agreed upon...end of story.
