I agree Sergio should get the FOTY nod over other "worthy candidates" like Montiel, Juanma and Pac. But to say that Pac's 2010 accomplishments are unworthy and are comparable to W Klit's victory over Eddie Chambers and Sam Peters is incomprehensible and downright irresponsible.

Out of the Ring Magazine's to 10 P4P, you can make a case for Juanma Lopez, Montiel, Pac and Sergio for FOTY based on their in-ring performance. They all had a great 2010 againts top tier guys.

I don't pretend to know how the BWAA cast their ballots. IMO, it should be based solely on in-ring performance. But if other factors are considered it could easily tip in favor of those who are a shining beacon for the sport. These are boxers who exemplified the true spirit of competition and sportsmanship, ambassadors of boxing.

Pacquiao isn't in the conversation this year. Martinez, Juanma, Montiel, Segura, etc. should be the top candidates.

I'm all for Martinez getting fighter of the year but to say that Pacquiao is unworthy - is pathetic. It's pretty tough to keep producing like Pacquiao, year after year. Until Mayweather Jr. gets in the ring with him, I say let the other fighters out there touch the award.

pac has a exciting and dominant fight against margarito no doubt but this one goes to martinez for sure.

beating pav and pwill is better than beating clottey/margarito.

I NEVER SAW such haters in the boxing media.
If Pacquiao was an american from brooklyn,he would be their semi god.

Pacquiao is far to cherry pick and fighting bums like Jones and Mayweather did.

SERGIO IS THE FOTY YES!!!
But Pavlik and Williams aren't so much better than Margo and Clottey.

Just to say Pacquiao isn't so "unworthy",I would say he takes maybe the 2nd spot.

martinez should be FOTY. Pacquiao's 2010 record is not even close.

sergio martinez winning the middleweight title and then knocking out paul williams in their rematch is way better then pacquiao beating joshua "the stationary punching bag" clottey and antonio "the moving punching bag" margarito

Another guy to mention who didn't have a bad year was Juanma. But his time will come.

But this goes to show you that even with two convincing and dominating victories the voters chose not to give it to Pac because he beat two bums.

They felt that Sergio's victories over Pav and P-Will were better wins.

Over Juanma? Montiel? Segura? Hell no. Manny's right there with Wladimir. He won two fights this year, both of which he was heavily, heavily favored to win.
