Was Julio Cesar Chavez just a "crude face first brawler" (not my words)

No he wasn't, I took some time out to watch many of his fights and even if he wasn't some defensive style boxing wizard he had a different set of skills to get inside and cut off opponents most of whom were running from him because of his power, relentless aggression, and inability to seriously hurt him to keep him off.

JC is one of the best ever in my opinion.

How Taylor was a robbery I have no idea how anyone can claim that. Chavez landed a shot and put him down.

When talking about it ppl act like Don King and Steele had known before hand that JC would score that KD right at the end and conspired to rob him.

Taylor was on dream street using the ropes to hold him up, unresponsive to Steele, if he wanted to continue had he had to do was let Steele know he was ok which he clearly wasn't.

Guy got brain damaged just to be stopped 5 secs before victory, are you crazy? That is the ******est thing I have ever heard, he fought with a heart of gold, and was mere secounds of the greatest victory of his life, to be stopped only 5 secs on his feet from victory.

            he shoulda of won

The ref is watching the fighters and surveying what is going on in the ring, it was bad timing for Taylor and it doesn't matter if there was 1 second left. I have seen fights stopped with a second left.

If that was a robbery then so was Mayorga/SSM as he wasn't even allowed to try and get up.

Its a legit TKO its all fair game until the final bell rings.

Exactly why I expect Margarito to get stopped against Cotto, Margarito's taken too much punishment and from quality opponents.
Their styles are nothing alike, all you have to do is watch them and see the HUGE difference in skill.

While they were both pressure fighters, the similarities end there. Marg isn't 1/2 the boxer Chavez is and has little to no defense. Chavez didn't get hit flush a lot, if you watch him closely he was great at deflecting punches and slipping especially on the inside.

To say Chavez is nothing but a brawler is to say you know nothing about boxing.
