No, Cotto fans are not afraid of Margarito. Cotto is the reason Tony took a major dive after their fight. The very next fight after, Tony gets caught loading his gloves and proceeds to get his ass handed to him by Mosley. Takes a year license revocation, fights a bum and then gets brutalized by Pacquiao. When Cotto rematches this guy, he's going to lay a beating on Tony. If you look at each fighters path after their first meeting, Cotto is by far the better off.
