I guess I should've phrased it better, who according to your personal observation, based on listening to the fighter talk, expressing himself, maybe even the way he conducts himself........is the smartest to you.

You can always look at a person, listen to them and come to the opinion whether they're intelligent or not. It happened to President Bush.
I guess I would say the Klitschko's then they are very intelleigent when they talk

For example, I think Bernard Hopkins is deceivingly intelligent, and he doesn't have an education. The way he cleaned up his life and never got in any sort of trouble again is an indicator also. You've got to be smart not to get into any/and stay out of trouble as petty as Roger or Floyd Mayweather do.

Education isn't the entire criteria in determining who is smart or not.
        then it's jmm.

he managed to pull off 2 wins after they were already declared a draw and a loss.

                Now this makes sense.

And I can see why you said that, they conduct themselves very well and their asnwers/comments are always thoughtful. Flores showed himself to be a good commentator on ESPN FNF.

Bernard is one of those guys who has smarts outside the academic world. Which in reality is more useful than any math problem, indeed he is intelligent.

Juan Manuel Marquez is probably the most formal and articulate spanish speaker in Boxing. He triggers more conversation and depth rather than plainly answer the questions themselves like most boxers do. There's an interview on YouTube somewhere were he's asked about how he sees himself as an old man and he responds with the utmost sincerity, flow and ease that I have ever seen in a Mexican boxer, period. I believe this is one of the reasons why he was chosen as commentator for Golpe a Golpe, when even MAB himself went to college to study law and is educated but withdrew once he started having success in boxing. This is why JMM surprised me with the "I beat Pacquiao twice shirt." That's really unlike him and contrasts his personality.

I agree. He is also a deep thinker and has no trouble expressing it in front of a audience.

Most fighters can't get into any topic/subject too deep when on the podium of a press conference. Either they talk some non-creative smack if they're ****y or they try to remember their basic talking points of thanking their promoters, blah.

This guy B-Hop goes on making examples talking about drivers licenses. How he is a experienced driver and the other guy just has a License, I.E. one of too many examples. Which maybe also explains how he has managed to stick around for this long without getting beat up. The dumb fighter might care about entertaining the fans at any cost at the expense of his health, he doesn't, it's all about the W and not getting knocked out or dominated. I admire that.

He also talks about his "Legacy" extensively. Can his counter part Roy Jones really get too deep talking about legacies and all-time greatness, like a Historian would. I don't think so, RJJ isn't dumb but not one of the brightest guys either. At his prime, he was also one of the most ignorant personalities around in boxing. RJJ's Ego ignorance >>> Floyd Mayweather's.

Mann Pacquiao also is naive. I'm not ready to say that he is Low IQ'd but a very naive kid. He keeps signing contracts he isn't supposed to but isn't dumb enough to let his true feelings be known, so he sticks to the "Script" whenever asked about something in public.
