styles make fights: Abraham vs Ward

Ward is undefeated and coming off boring, but good wins.

AA has been outboxed for all his fights in the super six, but managed to KO taylor late and get DQed for punching dirrell while he was down.

if you consider Ward's skills, pedigree, record, last fight, etc.... he will win this fight pretty easily by a landslide.

however, if you look at the styles, it's a much closer fight.

AA has problems against boxers and movers. Ward isn't a boxer or a mover, he's a grappler/clincher/hold-n-hit guy. If ward fights in his usualy grappling style, he could get caught by AA's power punches, since AA won't have to chase after him.

now I'm not saying AA will win. IMHO this is ward's fight to lose, but based on his style, I think it should be a fairly tough fight.

having said all that, it's possible ward will come out to box instead of clinch and we'll see AA get outboxed and frustrated for another 12 rounds. Also AA's skillset sucks and needs a new trainer.

idk man, AA's boxing fundamentals are very poor...his counterpunching skills sucks and his footwork sucks.....i think ward boxes the **** out of him and does'nt even have to resort to his usaul dirty tactics...

ward by UD is the most favourable outocme of this fight. But i think in this fight, anrahama may go all out attack from 1st bell, cos he knows if he doesnt he will get outboxed.

dont kid yourself abrahams is not a risk taker.....ward will tie him up before he can punch n **** his body so abrahams crys as usual but it wont work in usa....i like abraham but he is way 2 limited skillwise n at size disadvtange to win against any top 168...he only beat taylor when taylors chin n staminer was shot like **** **** ughhh......this will be as bad to watch as green ward...

cant deny overall ward shud easily win to be fair.
But AA knows hes gotta KO ward to win, n if he doesnt win thats 3 ass whoopings in a row for him. which leads me to belive that AA will try his hardest to KO ward.

Yes I made similar topic a while back, with the same basic observations. Ward will fight the holding smothering type of fight since AA is a puncher..like he did to Miranda etc etc .... problem is he is then withing range and he wont be able to hurt AA probably either. So AA may land with something in a sudden outburst plus he is now a desperate man.

Then again Ward could do what Dirrell (tried to do) and Froch for a while...but sooner or later he wont be able to resist falling into the holding..

Pull you are speaking as if we are talking about 2 fighters on and A level when we are talking only about 1 in Ward.

AA is a C+ slightly better than Miranda level fighter, there was nothing before the Froch fight to suggest otherwise

                  AA is an A fighter.

He was undefeated and ducked by Pavlik up until the Froch loss.

                  That's what suggests it.

I got AA to brutally k.o Ward myself.

Exactly against Froch AA missed so many chances to counter him.
I think AA should move back down to middle weight where he would be fighting guys closer to his size and his power would be the difference.
