    Lack of Brazilian Boxers...Why?

Why don't we see more Brazilian boxers? I can only think of Acelino "Popo" Freitas. You see plenty of MMA fighters from Brazil. Martial art is a big thing in Brazil but why don't we see any boxers? Aren't Brazilians interested in boxing whatsoever? They have a population of almost 200 million people and it's a country where sport is important. You'd think that boxing should be popular among the big poor population...or could it be that 99.9% of the people in all those "favelas" are only interested in football/soccer and BJJ?

    More boxers like this please...

Frietas was super popular in Brazil you would have figured he would spark some interest.

That was still fairly recent though so in a couple years maybe we will see a few more Brazilians in boxing, that got brought into the sport because of him.

Brazilian are also into basketball somewhat.

Eder Jofre was a Brazilian as well, the greatest bantamweight of all time.

Aguably a top 20 ATG, some can make a case for top 10.

i don't know why there are not more Brazilians. I think they focus more on soccer and MMA
