He is a journalist, there is a thing called journalistic integrity.

If a journalist lacks that they posses nothing since there is really no reason to listen to them over a man on the street.

If he is writing opinion pieces, he should not pretend to be a journalist when doing his work on what goes on behind the scenes at HBO. A writer can't go both ways which is what the problem is.

Larry Merchant, Max Kellerman, and plenty other TV guys ask Manny do you want to giht floyd next and Manny sayd "ask my promoter its up to him." Those same writers say Manny wants the fight.

Thomas Hauser is an excellent writer and devoted boxing journalist. He can hate floyd and respect Manny all he wants but that doesn't make Manny want this fight.

Just ask yourself who has more to lose?
Manny will surely want the fight, whoever his promoter will put in front of him, whether that of PBF, JMM or Martinez, Pac fear no body! However for weight reason, his promoter rejected the idea of Pac-Martinez.

I would disagree. You nor I know who Manny wants to fight because he says "my promoter .......". Bob, as reported on this site, said he is going to Manilla to present options to Manny for his next fight, Mosley, JMM or Berto.

So which is it, Bob tells him or Bob gives him choices and Manny picks?

Manny seems only to take the fights where he controls the terms and gets the larger purse. I think floyd is the same way. Problem for Manny is he is 2nd to floyd in terms of revenue generated so he can't control things as he is accustomed. That is why I think he doesn't want fight.

When he said, "it's up to my promoter" doesn;t mean he fears PBF, but he meant he is not choosy who ever his promoter put in front of him. The fact, he will not reject the idea of even facing Martinez, but it was his promoter who disagree because of formidable weight difference. There was no differences on purse issue during negotiation, it was only the Floyd style-blood test that spoiled negotiation because Floyd chose outlandish blood-testing not only transgressing the NSAC blood testing rules, but this is not a general practice of boxing matches as a whole, so why single-out Pac who is a consistent passer of blood testing and no reason to warrant for especial blood testing? Not only unfair but an insult to Pac as top fighter. Nonetheless, Pac has agreed to Floyd term on blood testing during the 2nd negotiation, however, not only ignored this by PBF but reluctant to fight Pac and could not offer any valid excuse of not facing PAc! Why? because Pac checked-mate and owned him!

I never said Pac was scared of floyd. But I don't think it means he isn't choosy. I think its his way of avoiding answering the question because his people tell him it hurts his leverage. Same as floyd saying all road s lead to Mayweather when he is aksed about fight.

it was only the Floyd style-blood test that spoiled negotiation because Floyd chose outlandish blood-testing not only transgressing the NSAC blood testing rules, but this is not a general practice of boxing matches as a whole, so why single-out Pac who is a consistent passer of blood testing and no reason to warrant for especial blood testing? Floyd was going to take the exact same tests. Pac has passed every urine test administered by the comission true. Floyd proposed BETTER, MORE ACCURATE testing for both fighters. How was that unfair or insulting to Pac?

Pac has agreed to Floyd term on blood testing during the 2nd negotiation, however, not only ignored this by PBF but reluctant to fight Pac and could not offer any valid excuse of not facing PAc!

Please be truthful. Pac refused the 14 day cutoff compromise offerdd by floyd in January. As such, floyd took that copmromise offer off the table and went back to 0 days. Pac then "allegedly" agreed to 14 days in July, when it was clear that was no longer being offered as a compromise.

I usually respect Hauser, but he is an inept ****head for letting his personal feelings about Mayweather cloud his judgement and allow him to go on record clearly missing the point......

Oh wait, you mean..... when Mayweather insisted that Shane Mosley undertake OST's before their fight, that was just Floyd's way of ducking Mosley?

Because, he knew Shane wouldn't accept those ridiculous demands right ?

                  Jeez, Mayweather was lucky.....
just imagine if Shane had called his bluff and taken those nasty tests

It is absolutely ridiculous for Hauser to think that the OST request was a duck.

The following "duck" excuses are ALL better than his one..........

                  FLOYD: " **** off, you're not getting 50% "
FLOYD: " **** off, 10 million per pound overweight is ridiculous "
                  FLOYD: " **** off, you're not a draw "
FLOYD: " **** off, you've had too many losses "
                  FLOYD: " **** off..... just **** off "

If Mayweather wanted a way out of that fight, do you really think that he would have accepted 50/50? or that silly 10mil per pound demand?

He would have used one of five excuses, and ALL of them would be better than Hauser's "excuse"..... because, Manny could have simply taken the test.

                  * OST's are HARMLESS !!
                  * OST's will be mandatory within a couple of decades
                  * OST's are mandatory NOW in ALL top amateur sports

But this is the main point.....
                  * Currently, if an amateur athlete avoids or obstructs an OST request, they are JUDGED GUILTY, by the sanctioning body, and by the public in general.

THE SAME WILL HAPPEN in a few years, because OST will be mandatory in boxing at that point in time.

In the future, boxing fans will wonder why Manny insisted upon a cut-off date - which will seem bizarre, because.....
a.) there is no such thing as a cut-off date for OST's
b.) EVERYBODY will be taking OST's as per regulation, at that point in time

                  Tell me guys.....

Team Pacquiao gave a total of 6 ridiculous excuses why Manny would not undertake random blood tests - which is a fkn joke. Requiring 6 different excuses means that none of them were any good, they just didn't want to take blood tests simple as that......

Floyd was toeing the line..... WHERE THE *** WAS MANNY ?

I wonder which one of those 6 ridiculous excuses did Hauser believe?

                  I "am too proud".

                  I "feel insulted".

                  Really Hauser ?

One fighter, asked another fighter, to undergo OST's.

It baffles me that Hauser could blame the fighter who made the request, and yet not even wonder why the other guy refused. WTF?
