Comments Thread For: Ray Austin Not Impressed With "Amateur" Odlanier Solis

Heavyweight Ray Austin is not impressed with his upcoming opponent, undefeated Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis. The collide on December 17 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Austin, 40-years-old, is a veteran with a lot of good opponents on his record. He thinks Solis is still an amateur fighting in the pro ranks. Austin vs. Solis is a WBC final eliminator to get a shot at champion Vitali Klitschko.

This fight is pretty much a waste of time, but then again Austin gets a decent pay day from it. Solis by early stoppage.

I have no clue why you guys are so certain that this will be an easy night for Solis who is a totally untested and an obese rookie while Austin has been in with the best fighter in the world and it was his only loss in 10 years.

I also give Ray Austin alot of respect, I think he can very well win this one even tho I favor Solis. But Austin worked the hard way up in the pros unlike Solis. Austin's pro career was the hard-way since he didn't have any amateur background. Lets see who wants this win more.

highlights of ray austin's career include draws with ibragimov, larry donald, zuri lawrence, and lance whitaker. his best win is probably a wicked faded golota

you cant forget he beat owen beck in an eliminator to get the final eliminator vs ibragimov.at that time beck was still a legit top 20 & IBF top 10.austin only got the fight because it was in cleveland & becks opponent dropped out & don king needed a replacement on short notice.he took advantage of his opportunity.since that fight this will be his 3rd eliminator & he got a title shot vs wlad.not bad for "no amateur experience"....rahman did the same thing but won 2 world titles.rahman had 10 amateur fights.austin has no pressure on him & can turn it into a million bucks if he wins.he is 40 though & must be in shape.this is no walk in the park for solis.i actually bet that austin wins.
