Cottos my fav fighter. But manny caught him on the decline. He was coming off a loss and squeaked a win past a bclass fighter. Paul was 3 p4p in amny eyes and pavlik was undefeated in his weight class, and racked some wins on his resume before sergio. Not to mention sergio was underdog for both fights, and manny was comfortable fav to beat miguel.

Yes, they can do 154 but they would be backing down on their original statement, and Martinez would be drained. Martinez would be just fighting for money then, it wouldn`t be much of a fight.
Martinez offered Cotto 155 to entice Cotto with his MW belt. If he offered 154, it wouldn't really be a middleweight fight anymore. 155 + belt is the best way to get Cotto to fight him.

Martinez (or Dibella. Don't remember) already said he'd go 154 for Mayweather. He'd obviously offer the same for Pacquiao.

Manny is in a no win situation...but this fight make sense late 2011 if Sergio continues increasing his name recognition with continued good performances and makes the risk worth the reward.
I highly doubt Manny would beat Sergio! HIGHLY DOUBT!!!! Y? Cause Sergio is a slick boxer that is quick enough to counter Manny, Plus he hits harder then Margarito an can take punches. But I doubt this fight even happins, cause Manny hasnt fought a slick fighter since JMM an i would think if Manny was to fight a slick fighter it would be JMM not Sergio Martinez.

omgg i cant believe your ignorance. I hope your being sarcastic or something.
Pwill avenged his loss to quintana via 1st round ko, and pavlik lost to bhop 10 pounds past his best weight, if you want to say he took something out of kelly then granted, but nowhere near as much as cheato and his plaster took from cotto. Once again ******* statements. While sergio was fighting real opponents manny was fighting b level fighters and damaged goods. Which is why martinez is front runner for foty

                  Manny beats Martinez.

Cotto vs Martinez is a prelude to Pacquiao vs Martinez.
