Did Holyfield beat a Prime Foreman?

I'm wondering what you guys think about this? I think the consensus amongst boxing pundits is that George Foreman had two primes in his career.

Some analysts would argue that Foreman was more mature, tougher, and a smarter boxer in his second prime than he was in his first. Others would argue that Foreman was meaner, punched harder, was more ferocious, and ultimately better in his first prime.

Moreover, anyway you look at it, Holyfield beat a very formitable opponent in George Foreman and that win goes down as one of his greatest performances in the ring. I believe that Holyfield beat a "best prime" Foreman and had he fought a younger Foreman he probably would have dominated him even more so.

What do you guys think? The Foreman threads never get old!

      Crush!!!

I think a prime Foreman(younger) would be far to much for Holyfield!

I dont know if we ever actually saw a prime Foreman...

When he was physically in his prime he fought with no style and no plan, the guy fought with no brain.

When he was out of his physical prime and came back he used his head and paced himself but he was a shell of himself.

Had Foreman been able to put his brain that he showed during his comeback with his skills when he was a terror you may have had an undeatable son of a *****.

You are right! Who knows what destruction Foreman would have caused if he had of used his brain. He might have completely annialated the legend Ali!

Lol yeah Foreman never used his brains when he was young that is why he was 45-2 with 42 knockouts.Foreman was just as patient when he was young as when he was older. The only difference was the old fat Foreman was slow so it seemed like he was more patient of more relaxed.
But anyway Foreman wasn't close to his prime when he fought Holyfield.Foreman was 42 fat and alot slower. If Tyson is past his prime at 24 Ali is past his prime at 30 then why would you think Foreman was at his prime at 42?
A young Foreman destroys Holyfield. If Holyfield can't hurt a weaker slower less poweful version of Foreman then i don't see how he could even last 12 rounds with a prime Foreman.

Holyfield outboxes George Foreman for 15 rounds to win a unanimous decision. It happened in the 90s and it would have happened in the 70s too.

George Foreman said it himself that Holyfield was a master boxer. Make sure that the Evander that beat Michael Dokes is the one that fights George.

Too much stamina makes the big man fold after 5 rounds. Eveander doesn't have enough engine to take George out, but George doesn't have enough radiator to cool his engine. Evander's defense is too good, and he physical strength to pressure George is surprising.

Definitely not. A prime Foreman would've destroyed a prime Holyfield.

The reason he ws 45-2 was not because he was a strategist or he was a thinking mans fighter.

The guy was as strong as any fighter who ever put on gloves in the division, the guy had to clubs for arms and he used them cuz thats all he knew.

Foreman patient? HE was real patient against Frazier, he was real patient against Ali, he was real patient my ass...watch his fight with Boone Kirkman-Foreman sprints out of the corner and before Boone can even take a step George is ramming into him and shoving him down.

**** if Ali didnt land a couple of punches on Big George the wind was going to blow him over in another round or so.

George was 45-2 because he was a physicaly superior being to every man he ever fought, had he of used some of the pizazz and style and yes patience he showed in his comeback he could have been rated higher on the all time list.

Poppy****, I say to you young man!!! Foreman is on record as saying that he used to be really tensed up!!! He used to get really mad thinking about how his opponent was going to try to break his nose and whatnot before the start of the fight!!! This is what he said and it is on the record!!! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR!!! Enough, this arrgument is over!!!
