That's where Juan Manuel Marquez will come in. He brings all the marketable tools to turn the spring soft touch into a mega-fight atmosphere. Marquez came up short in two fights with Pacquiao that many believed he won. Not to mention, Marquez was the last fighter that Pacquiao actually had trouble with and he's the most popular Mexican fighter in the sport today, so a Cinco de Mayo showdown would be big. Marquez would be such a huge underdog that people would root for him in lieu of Pacquiao's massive popularity. Even though Marquez's desire to fight Pacquiao is borderline obsessive, I doubt that he believes he can beat him and is making such a big deal at this time just to get the big payday and call it a career. Following his instant classic with Michael Katsidis last weekend, everybody is saying that Marquez is "deserving" of the fight, but people seem to forget a few obvious facts. Marquez is old, is becoming less mobile, despite his tremendous performances, and a fight with Pacquiao will be at 147, where Marquez laid an egg against Mayweather last year.
Here is the part about JMM.

Welcome to NSB, where bait and troll threads take precedence over actual discussion.

Anyways, Pacquiao/Mosley maximizes financial revenue due to name recognition, but is detrimental to legacy. But as Floyd once said, "Legacy don't pay bills".

Arum and Team Pacquiao could care less about the hardcore fans (those that know a little more than what 24/7 spoonfeeds us).

I think no matter who Pacquiao fights, besides Mayweather, he'll receive criticism somehow, someway. People right now are throwing names like Berto, Bradley, Alexander, and many others, but I believe inevitably it comes down to Pacquiao simply being leagues above these guys (right now). The same goes for Mayweather. I've seen people saying he should fight Paul Williams, Martinez, Berto, and a host of others, and those fights right now make no sense either.

I made a statement last week about Pacquiao officially making it being now anyone he faces would be considered a slap in the face to "fans" being he's not fighting the "best" competition. The 2 names that surface are Martinez and Williams, and we all know for obvious reasons those fights won't materialize for Pacquiao as they won't for Mayweather.

So in the end, are we supposed to be mad at Manny Pacquiao, or is it just as simple as there not being anyone of real competition for neither Pac or Mayweather?

Sidenote: Though I don't like Mosley vs Pacquiao like many on here don't either...why is it we're still going to watch it?
