You don't think Oscar is looking out for his buddy here? I obviously have no idea, but I feel like Oscar wants all his associates(Marquez, Mosley) to give themselves their best chances at a Pacquiao shot. I think Mosley probably gives Pac more problems than Berto, (not more problems than Marquez) but this bout is lacking serious luster.

1. mosley won't fight under gbp so gbp doesn't get a cut of mosley's purse.

2. since mosley isn't under gbp , it cuts in half what gbp gets from arum.

3. mosley will mess up their chances at a jmm-pac 3 which is a lot of money for gbp.

This is a terrible fight. I'm sorry, SSM has nothing to offer as far as a challenge goes -- moneywise it makes sense -- but SSM is done. It would be another one-sided beatdown. For the casual fans they'll love it -- for me -- this is a garbage fight. I really hope Manny isn't seariously thinking about going this route...

Let's get real here. Who has Marquez beaten since getting trashed by Floyd ?!

He beat a recycled and shot Juan Diaz whom he has already knocked out, and who was already beaten by Paulie Malinaggi twice and by Nate Campbell !

And then he fought Katsidis, who was already beaten by Juan Diaz and Joel Casamayor !!!

These are both come-forward, face-first, predictable, Lightweight fighters who are tailor-made for his style!

And now all of a sudden he says Pac is avoiding him??? WTF!!!



And Manny's last two fights were credible, Margarito coming off suspension and having one fight in 18 months barely beating a nobody, and Josh Clottey, who did nothing because he is not that good of a boxer, and previous to that he fought Cotto who was still recovering from the beating he took from the hand plasters. Manny's last few opponents have not been that stellar either.

Mosley instead of carving his own name by beating a Top Fighter
that is actually coming off a win or looks dominate. Heard all of
the excuses about Shane being gassed, past his prime and all the
other BS when Floyd fought him BUT now Pac wants to fight him?
What are the Pac fans saying about that? Would be funny as hell
if Shane KO'd Pacquiao. Would serve him right for taking the easy
way out of a challenge.

Just like Floyd fought Marquez after Manny beat him or De La Hoya after Shane beat him or Judah after Tszyu killed him and Baldomir beat him or he fought Gotti after Smoke Gainer of all people beat him or etc etc. You can play that game all day long just like I can say Manny beat Cotto a top 5 welter for years that Floyd NEVER fought or Margarito a top 5 welter for years that Floyd NEVER fought.
