For Hopkins to win, he has to be able to land his punches consistently or we're looking at a close fight where he might or might not have gotten robbed.

The only close/competitive fight where he got the W is the Oscar fight. We'll know in the first few rounds, if he's taking it.

I like B-Hop's chances though. He will neutralize Pascal's offense, as he does everyone else (except for Calzaghe at times). And Pascal already has a low output, so he might not be able to push the pace and outwork the old man.

Either way it'll be an ugly fight, but Hopkins can make it watchable by landing clean shots because I know Pascal won't be landing anything clean (to the head at least).

Thing is, at this stage does Hopkins have enough left in the tank to land at a consistent rate and still win rounds? It's not enough to land consistently if you're only throwing about ten power punches per round, and against Pascal he's going to be under pressure from the opening bell. Pascal is a little sloppy with his offence, but he possesses tremendous explosiveness, especially in the early rounds, and a pretty unorthodox aggressiveness that could certainly catch Hopkins out if he's not careful. Pascal does tend to tire in the later rounds, but his workrate is usually pretty solid up to that point. He's also pretty good at conserving his energy and exploding out of the box when his opponent is least expecting it. He'll certainly be more active than Hopkins, that's for sure.

Personally, I think this is a pretty clear win for Pascal, though I'm never entirely confident of ever counting Hopkins out.

If he lands consistently, he will win rounds.

Hopkins didn't look good against RJ because he couldn't land clean punches and he overdid the effect of his fouls. That said, he threw over 500+ punches, 40-45 punches per round. That's more than Pascal has thrown against Dawson or Diaconu (look up the stats, he averages around 40 punches or less).

Pascal has been a mover and hasn't put pressure on his opponent since he moved up to 175. He's a boxer, if he was a pressure fighter, this fight would be easier for Hopkins since he likes it when an opponent with a leaky defense pressures him.

If they fight at the distance he fought Dawson at, and he tries to explode at Hopkins, I have a hard time seeing B-Hop not timing and catching him (with a punch or headbutt) or at least rendering them ineffective.

that was a video of Williams going through his fitness routine and if I remember correctly didnt have a single bit of boxing mixed into it. Most all of Bhops workout components include boxing. The dude is an ace and looks to be in better shape than he was in the Jones fight where I thought he looked a little soft.

Hopkins took this fight fast yet he wanted nothing to do with Dawson, he had to have seen some thing that he is going to develop a gameplan for. I have a feeling that Hopkins may have some sneak attack in store for Pascal, not sure what it is though but he would never take a risk like that without knowing he is a sure thing to win.
