To be fair there is no lineal champ at 154 and as for Mayweather(I guess you could call him the lineal WW champ) well it's been pretty well documented what happened with that.

Your right about the 154lb title but when he got the welterweight title Mosley was considered the lineal champ.

I believe Marquez deserves this fight and so does Roach and Ariza. Both have said Mosley will be to easy. So they must think Marquez represents some kind of challenge. As they themselves put it Marquez and Pacquiao have unfinished business. Marquez has the style that gives Pacquiao "trouble" so why not make the fight happen. If the Mayweather fight never falls through and Pacquiao doesn't fight Marquez then that just makes Hopkins words more powerful. Beating Mosley will not help because he has not looked good lately and Marquez has done well in most of his fights against younger opposition too for that matter. Make the fight happen everyone trashes Mayweather when he says he fights for the money so the same should be for Pacquiao. Plus the Mayweather- Marquez fight did good numbers Pacquiao-Marquez might do even better.

No he wasn't he was ranked number one but he wasn't the lineal champ. The Lineal champ was Mayweather who was retired when Pac made his welterweight debut.

Marquez can fight Pac if only Garcia will be his chief trainer.
