Maybe Marquez does not deserve it?

You google or search on Yahoo . . and you see Marquez and Dela Hoya strongly bat that they deserve the Manny Pacquiao sweepstakes. Do they deserve it.

1) Marquez continues to indicate that he won both fights against Pacquiao. What was the officially score here: 4 KOs against Marquez which resulted in a draw and split decision win for Pacman. In a close fight, there is always the subjectivity factor and the judges near ring side that saw it . . saw it manny's way with his KOs.

2) Marquez and Oscar continue to DISRESPECT MANNY. The last fight of Marquez only drew less than 5,000 people . . vs Pacquiao 40,000 + last November and 50,000+ last May. Marquez and Oscar want the big bucks that Pacquiao brings (PPV, gate receipts, etc) . . ITS CLEAR AND OBVIOUS, yet they all spew the negativity on Manny (wow, beggars can't be chosers)

3) Oscar is already an embarrassment. He continues to say he was weight drained . . Oh yeah, on the weight that he picked (he was the golden boy and he called the shots). Too much bitterness . . Oscar is hallucinating.

4) There are other fighters that are equally compelling for a fight with Pacquiao i.e. Bradley/Alexander winner, Berto, etc.

Parting shot at Marquez: Marquez looked slow and sluggish at welterweight when he fought Mayweather . . and if this fight comes through, given that Pacquiao has retained his speed at WW (and pacquiao's right hand is much better than they last fought in 2008), Marquez will finally get his whopping. As the famous saying goes: be careful what you wish for, you may just got the beat down of your life. (food for thought)

I don’t know about the gents here, but I just don’t believe bad mouthing and insulting another fighter just so he can land a fight with the man. I have and still believe in “a gentleman and warrior” kind mentality.

A Warrior Gentleman is more appealing to the casual fans than a loud mouthed, arrogant, and insensitive gladiator. He is the man the casual fans and other men want to follow. Fans relates to a gentleman who they see as an aristocrat not of wealth or birth, but of virtue. I missed those days in boxing when fighters were more of that kind… It was the glory days of boxing. They publicly challenged each other but refrained from hurling insults.

The new crops of fighters have lost this desirable quality. I believe this is a major factor why the sport is losing its casual fan base.

By insulting and mocking Pacquiao, Jmm have made it a lot harder for his dream fight to happen. If you are the champ and the main atraction would you give a man who insulted you a payday?

Margarito's Trainer should tell that to Hopkins! Pacman already said that he is going to fight any boxers regardless of the color of skin.

Just make sure that if the Pacman-Marquez fight push through, The pro african-american boxers won't protest!

1. why would jmm demand for a 3rd fyt if he already defeated pac twice.....only to lose in the 3rd??
jmmm is so pathetic with his antics.....he don't deserve another fyt with pacquiao now....maybe 2 years ago, it's ok.
