Thanks.jono nailed it.
I think Khan is taking him out early, though. I know the guy is one punch away from catastrophy but Maidana is going to wild be wild and get wrecked. Maidana is basic. Very Basic.
Khan wins by countering a shot brought up from Maidana's ankles, hurts him and puts him away.
The only thing I disagree with on Jono's post is that I'm sure Maidana can't take Khan's shots for too long either.
Yes, Maidana isnt one for great defense and if khan can keep it at range and land some fast hard shots then it is possible that khan could win via late stoppage. The question is really, has maidana got the skill level and boxing cleverness to keep this fight at close range and to rough khan up. My honest answer is notComment

Khan will pepper Maidana with his jab and the occasional one-two early, racking up points, as Maidana tries to be disciplined in cutting off the ring. As the fight continues Maidana gets progressively more frustrated and starts bull-rushing, losing what discipline and technique he had - at this point Khan will start landing heavy combinations which will either confirm a wide points victory or eventually force the referee to step in.Comment

I
I think Khan is a brilliant boxer. He also has a brilliant trainer. In addition to a crafty physical trainer (Ariza). All that said, I just think that Maidana is a little too rough for Khan. When Maidana fought Victor Cayo (even though Cayo is very un-orthodox) I saw a man physically much smaller, and athletically less gifted pummel him. Maidana systematically broke him down. When they fought on the inside Maidana was nailing him behind the head, punching his hips, and so forth. Cayo may be raw but he is also trained by a world-class trainer (Gabriel Sarmiento). The fight looked like a kid who is a star-athlete in his town who picked a fight with a runt from the wrong side of the tracks. That's the way I see Maidana, as a guy who wins not because of his talent, but because of his tenacity, and hardness. I could be wrong, Khan could go in there, stick-and-move, and totally outclass him. Ultimately I think that Khan is just too soft for a guy like Maidana.Comment

the handspeed, footspeed, height, range and spacing of khan will be too much.
maidana has a puncher's chance + khan's glass chinComment

I agree with your analysis but I think Khan will stop Maidana in the later rounds.Amir Khan - Will try to box n move, he cant fight on the inside so hes gotta keep this fight at range and use his jab n hand/foot speed to catch maidana then get out of range again. If khan does this he will win by UD
Marcos Maidana - Will try to rough khan up very early in the fight by trying to land big shots from the first bell, we all know there are question marks over khans chin. He cant allow khan to move frely around the ring, maidana must try tp keep control of the ring and kep the fight at close range. If maidana does this, Maidana wins by KO
Conclusion - Khan by UDComment

Here's what I think Maidana will do,He will try to cut the ring and try to tap Khan with his faint jab and right hook as much as he can to TKO him.And he must otherwise if he's not able to stop Khan within 4 rounds. The tide will turn against him and Khan will pick him off with jabs all night.
Khan will try to back pedal and avoid Maidana's right hook.I think by now they (Roach) already have a plan for Maidana's only armament.( 1,2 faint or weak job and right hook.) Khan just need to lean forward and let Maidana hit his glove with the weak jab and move back to avoid his right hook. Then let go of his left hook to the side of Maidana's head or jaw. This may happen in the later round when Khan knew or feel that Maidana's power have subsided.Comment
