    Marquez vs Bradley

A little while ago this would have felt to me like a quick way to send an aging Marquez to the "should retire" line in his boxing career becuz Bradley, is a fast, slick, skilled, and very strong boxer that would have no doubt taken advantage of the smaller, slower, AGING Marquez...

But now... Marquez has shown that age hasn't beaten him yet, and that he's still a very capable fighter. Most of the top guys at 140 would still give him trouble, mostly becuz of the size, strength, and speed advantages most of them have over Marquez. But when u think of Bradley, he's not much bigger than Marquez. He may be stronger but doesn't exactly have Pacquiao's punching power. He's faster, but not very accurate. And even though Bradley is more than capable of beating everyone at Jr Welterweight, a trait he takes into everyone of his fights, sometimes making his performance look weak (Abregu), is he tends to fight down to his opponents level.

The smartest thing he could do to the aging Marquez is stick and move to an easy, but boring decision. But he won't. He likes to fight on the inside. He prefers head movement to lateral movement. He's not afraid to get hit, and when u do hit him he tries to hit u back.

The fight sounds more intriguing now. It could just be that Katsidis, like Margarito was to Mosley, was just a tailor-made opponent to make an aging fighter still look great. But even so...

    Anyway, what do u think?

bradley is a workhorse. but brings nothing to the table that marquez hasnt seen and delt with already. only way he loses is if his age catches up with him. if he as good as against katsidis or juan diaz he beats bradley possibly stops him late. bradley gets hit alot and marquez jab would keep him in place and at pace. bradley speed power and workrate is nothing a prime focus marquez couldnt handle. the key word is prime. if marquez fights bradley at 38 theres a chance his accuracy could go down. he might not pull the trigger as much. and the wear and tear on his body can take toil.

but when i predict fights i go by previous fights and always think that the best of both fighters are walking into the ring fighting.

I kind of mean if they were about to fight around now, or in the near future. I tend to steer clear of fantasy fights that will never happen, for example PRIME Marquez is gone, so PRIME Marquez vs Bradley is impossible.

But don't think of it as an old Marquez, think of the Marquez that just whooped Katsidis vs Bradley from what u know of them now

Bradley as of lately hasn't even really lost a round to anyone, neither has JMM. Thats what makes this fight perfect.

I know right. Out of all the 140 guys people want Marquez to fight, Bradley's the only one that will produce fireworks

I can see Bradley outworking Marquez in the early rounds. He stays very busy and is not very hard to hit, which would give an accurate counterpuncher like Marquez opportunities to capitalize on his mistakes.

I think Marquez would win a decision.

Although not an elusive target, I've never seen Bradley take very much damage for a sustained period of time, so I'm not sure how he would deal with adversity if Marquez got the upper hand. I don't think Bradley has the power to KO Marquez either.

But this would be a great fight, whoever wins.

Marquez could counter Bradley to hell, but at 140, not with enough power to shut him down. Bradley wins this by UD.
