Cotto could get hurt real bad if he isn't careful.

Yeah, that's the most important thing. I hope he stays safe.

I wonder where the fight would take place? I'd have to give Martinez the edge but let's not forget.... recent history shows the Martinez gets screwed whenever a fight goes the distance. Although his last spectacular KO should stop his run as being the "Opponent" on the card. I give Cotto a better shot than most, he is far from shot and he has always done well against southpaws and speed fighters. (Except of course manny... THE speedy southpaw of this generation).

I went to the last fight in Yankee Stadium and I gotta say...it's not that great. Just don't like the viewing and I was pretty close. I guess it's cool but ehh.

Why do people think Cotto will get squashed by Martinez? Cotto has steamrolled anyone who tries to outbox him, even big guys like Quintana who is the same size as Sergio. In fact, Sergio has Quintana's same horrible habit of bending over to his right to avoid punches, which is the last thing he should be doing against Cotto. Not to mention Sergio still drops his hands constantly and Cotto is going to be a lot faster than PWilliams. In fact, I think Cotto will have the speed advantage in this fight as Sergio never seemed lightning fast to me when he fought PWill who is slow as dirt. At 155 I'm taking Cotto, at 160 though I have to go with Martinez as he would be coming into the ring at 175 pounds or more. At 155 I don't see him getting passed 170 and Cotto's fought Marg/Clottey who both weighed in at about that weight on fight night.

I've always liked Cotto's chances against Martinez.

I think Cotto loves fighting a boxer.

A pressure fighter/volume puncher is his kryptonite.

                  Sergio is little more selective.

I see it being close and going 12.

I'd favor Sergio becuase of the level of recent competion, but won't count out Cotto.

I think Martinez is overrated in here. I think Cotto is heavily Underrated in here.

I think it is a good fight

That’s all crimson and clover but you forgot to mention how Cotto would react to a 155 pounders punch when rehydrated and not to mention when pressured.

I love Cotto, and I have always been an avid supporter but even when he moved to 154 I thought it was a bad idea because of the size disparity and other monsters he has to contend with Angulo/Kirkland to name a few all pressure fighters who pose a sincere and imminent threat.

You can combine this all with Cotto potentially being shell-shocked from two back to back TKO losses (one a possible cheat).

I think Cotto should go back to 147 scrap with Berto and asses from there.
