    • marquez is scared of pac at 147...marquez is the one desperately begging for big money fight that only pac give. marquez has no choice: it's either he fights at 147 or expose himself as a gay drinking pee

Fact is a fact. If Cotto didn't want the catch weight, he shouldn't have agreed to it. Maybe the fight would have still taken place at the weight Cotto wanted and we sure don't know what would have been the outcome. But again, past is past. Cotto did agree.
If you think Manny is over rated, I am sure there are many more that share your opinion. But the thing is, Manny is in demand.

        • pac doesn't need to do what cotto did. pac is the king that's why he always has the last say. if marquez is scared, as he really is, he can go to indonesia and have a rematch with chris john for 70,000 dollars

          • 1. The catchweight wont matter. Any of them can come in from 140-150 on weigh-in.

            2. The money issue shouldnt be a problem also because theyre giving the Mayweather figure, which is probably just right.

I think if there's just someone needing to prove anything its Marquez so these shouldnt be issues to him. I think he should be thankful if given another chance considering Manny's camp has more options. While on the surface it looks likes a one-sided contract he should grab it.

Marquez had the history of pricing himself out before I hope he learned his lesson.

            • 147 limit?

Still don't understand the reasoning why people are upset with this. Marquez can come in at any weight correct?? So why not come in at 140 and let Pac come in at what he wants. Will only be about 5 pounds difference by fight night, so what is the big deal? Still don't understand why Marquez will turn it down????

After Shane beat Margarito (effectively being the #1WW) in 09, Pacquuiao had just retired De La hoya and was on his way to arranging a fight @ 140 against Hatton. He then fought Cotto in Nov of the same year (yes the same Cotto who beat Mosley). And when that concluded, everyone was asking for Pacquiao-Mayweather and Mosley was supposed to fight with Berto. Unfortunately Mayweather threw in a roadblock, So Pacquiao had to face the available WW at the time and it just so happened it was Clottey who then everyone knew was heavy handed, durable and had very good defense and some even called im dangerous.

So now, should Pacquiao fight Mosley?? Boxing wise no, because Mosley even at his age is still a good fighter but not as good or great as he was before. Did anyone of you see his fight against Mora?? Nuff said. They are just considering Mosley due to FINANCIAL reasons, he has a better draw and name recall than Berto and Marquez.

I mean really, Pacquiao-Mayweather is the only best fight out there that would benefit both financially and their legacy. Anything outside of that fight is purely for financial reasons. Pacquiao does not have to prove anything to cement his legacy because its already established and solid. Same with Mayweather (but I do believe he has to beat Pacquiao first).

So is it fair to demand 147 for Marquez to fight Pacquiao, of course it is! Pacquiao is on the driver seat, Marquez can't be a b1tch and demand for a catchweight or even a 50/50 split because he does not have the PPV appeal to show for it. I don't doubt his boxing skills, he is a very technically gifted counterpuncher/fighter. But then again this is business as Mayweather poetically dictates to his rabid/loyal fans.

So I say now to the *****'s...where Floyd at??? I hope he answers the calls Top Rank is making (so far he ain't answering) to ge that fight done. WE ALL WANT FOR THAT FIGHT TO HAPPEN!!!
Mayweather, however, has a chance to at least shush the critics now that he is finally going to face an elite welterweight in champion Shane Mosley

When was the last time that anyone said something like that about a
Pacquiao oponent? Didn't even hear that about Cotto when Manny
                fought him.

"Shane called me earlier [Monday] and said that's it, he's had it," Shaefer said. "He's not waiting around anymore. He said, 'This guy [Pacquiao] is obviously scared of me. So let's move on.' Sugar Shane Mosley's career has not been built around Pacquiao. He already has a legacy of greatness. But eventually a Mayweather or Cotto or Pacquiao will need him. That day will come."

The fight with Mosley and Pac could have happened. Case closed.

$31,250 to be exact. Marquez rejected a $750,000 payday to fight Manny Pacquiao and $1.5 million to fight Erik Morales.

Apparently, he thinks of himself as this charismatic, exciting fighter who could draw large crowds with a style that is usually dependent on a dance partner with particular style to make it salable.

The reality is no matter how its spun, anyone in Manny Pacquaio's camp who catchweights are ******, citing the reasons Arum cited, are pure, 100% hypocrites when you look at Pac's recent history. CASE CLOSED UNDERSTOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of Pac Haters (Floyd fans) are guilty of being hypocrites themselves.

Now they want Manny to fight at a catch-weight but not when it favored Manny.

Now they want Manny to come down to 140 to make Marquez happy????? To make it fair???? Where were these people when Manny was fighting guys bigger than him? Did they want it to be fair? lol!

Floyd got a catch-weight with the same Marquez BUT then changed his mind in the last minute. Where is the criticism from the Floyd fans for that? and Floyd is bigger than Manny!

Floyd fan "If Manny can't make 154 then stay at 147" ... so what's with 140 now? So why are they not saying the same with Marquez who can't make 147?

Some of Floyd fans were stating the other day, Floyd vs Martinez at a catch-weight was OK because Floyd will refuse to pay the title fees!!!

Like I said, they need to be looking in the mirror when they shout hypocrites.

As for Arum's words .... yea he didn't select the best of words but let's get real......
What you guys don't get is that Roach and Arum and perhaps Manny do NOT want to fight with Marquez and it's not because they are going to lose. They said it even before the win by Marquez. Also, factor in that they have ALL the leverage and therefore you will get this kind of talk.

Add the fact that fighting (coming down) to 140 makes NO SENSE!!!!!

Manny is looking for Floyd (and maybe even Martinez - long-shot) before he retires so it doesn't make sense to fight a lightweight in preparation for Floyd (or Martinez at 154). Plus he needs to try to keep his body/muscles in check for when the time comes to fight at 147 (or higher) with Floyd. Losing weight to make 140 is not going to do it. Not maintaining his best fight weight is not going to do it.

The only way I could see Manny taking the fight at 140 is if they plan on fighting the winner of Devon/Bradley next ....
