5,000 is a perfectly decent number.

Juan was fighting on a Holiday weekend in Vegas, when most people are leaving town, against a guy no one (outside of us) has ever heard of before.

Also note, Juan's last fight against Diaz was not at all the war it was solid as being. Probably the backlash of a ****ty fight. I believe the under-performing live gate of Pac/Margarito had a lot to do with the underwhelming Pac/Clottey affair leaving a bad taste in peoples mouths.

Guys at lower weights like Caballero never bring big crowds unless they're, say, Puerto Rican and fighting in a city with a big PR crowd (Juanma in NYC, for example)

Marquez is also simply not a big draw amongst Mexicans/Mexican Americans. He brings crowds, but not the way Morales and Barrera did.

You can blow money and promote all day, but in the end the public decides which fighters they way to see regardless of talent.
