Froch is the only guy fighting legit against legit opponents.... He now has Calzaghe's old crown.
Brinkley was a mandatory and Abraham and Bute have one common opponent. And regardless what anyone believes Bute is a pretty good fighter. But as far as Froch is concerned he did look better against Kessler, however he still lost, and he looked great against a guy who did little else but stand in front of him. He also received one of the worst hometown decisions in recent boxing history. So it just may be a little to early to crown King Carl just yet.

Co-signed. Froch deserves his moment, but some folks are getting a bit carried away with the ATG legacy talk now that he's beaten Arthur Abraham. People across the pond got caught up in the pre-Super Six build up that the European fighters were the class of the tournament and some are still clinging to that myth despite what we've already seen in this tournament. I hope, at the very least, that our objective boxing friends across the pond accept that AA was an enormously overrated, minimally talented fighter. Ward has shown himself to be the best fighter in this tournament. I don't understand how there could be any argument about that at this point.

Agreed, and Bute is a very good fighter.

          Good post.

          It's about perspective.

          Abraham is a limited fighter.

Between Froch and Ward, Ward faced the tougher test yesterday.

Froch did a great job though.

            100% correct.

I think the performances by Dirrell and especially Ward have caught a lot of the European fans by surprise, and they still don't want to admit that Ward has clearly emerged as the best of the Six.

Still say Kessler's better. He fought a really close fight with Froch, no matter how you score it. He was not at his peak either in that fight.

And the tourny aint over yet. Ward is perfectly capable of embarrassing Froch. That'll likely be the final, and I think it's a good fight.

Great performance from Carl but he had a ghost in front of him on Saturday. Abraham is done.
Carl will dazzle again against the gracious but older Johnson whose style is perfect at 40 for Froch. Glen will tire after six stanzas and it could become a brutal shutdown, worse then what Arthur suffered.
I'm not sure of the Bute factor in any major picture. Showtime either purchased a diamond or a dud. It's too early to tell which.
I am troubled by the talk of the Froch legacy. Kessler truly won their contest and there will probably never be a rematch.

I agree, that was a real shame, both for the tournament and for Kessler.

                      You mentioned everyone but Ward

How does everybody think that Abraham will fare against Ward? If he get's blown out in that fight, where will he go from there?

Also, what style will Froch use against Ward, and how effective will he be ?
