You know, it's all about Pac's adventure...Pacquiao is trying to test the waters at the higher weights since he has proven himself the conqueror of the featherweights, by battling the future Hall of Famers like Morales 3x, Barrera 2x & Marquez 2x..A victory over David Diaz is a legitimate test of Pacquiao fighting a bigger guy...In the first place Diaz is a lightweight champion who has earned a victory over Morales...The adventure has started & ever since it's non-stop demolishing every bigger opponent crossing his way (Diaz, Dela Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey & recently Margarito) mostly in a brutal fashion, earning a record 8 division world title, Fighter of the Decade & as the Pound for Pound King...I believe Pacquiao has fought the avoided fighters of their division, contrary to what you've said...

Marquez isn't your typical Mexican style boxer, its the reason why Manny has had so much problems with him.

Berto, though young and full of piss and vinegar, isn't a polished fighter. He'll more than likely get KO'd by Manny due to all the holes in his game.

Better call Mayweather first that's the best possible match for Pacquiao...The only 2 fights who deserve to earn a Pacquiao fight will be top priority Mayweather & 2nd priority Marquez, or 3rd retire enough already nothing to prove...

Berto doesn't deserve, he needs to prove something, first give Collazo a rematch because it's a robbery & next mix it up with the likes of Margarito, Cotto, Clottey, Moseley(old) or even Floyd...

Yeah, I agree. In his prime he always gives Pac hell or beats him but by the time they fight now he'll be 38 years old! He's not nearly as quick, sharp etc and he was in his prime and his reflexes and defense have slowed enough that moving up to 147 to fight a guy in his prime years and a good weight for him would be very hard.

The sad thing is that if Pac beats him, and I imagine he will more convincingly than before, people will remember him as having clearly won the trilogy and yet he will be facing an old, past prime version of a guy that would always give him serious trouble in his prime. Making Marquez move up to 147 is as BS as it gets. Pac would have absolutely no trouble whatsoever making 140, as Ariza and Roach always harp on about who easy he could do it when facing bigger guys, and yet in this fight they are now switching their stance as suits them and saying Pac is a 147 pounder and they don't want to drain him by going to 140? It's a damn joke.

Marquez should not fight above 140. It takes too much out of him and there is not enough left for him to really be the same as before anyway. This was a hard fight for him and being nearly forty years old, plus moving up again, to fight a guy that's still in his prime, as he was in their last fight while Marquez was just starting to move to the other side of prime, would prove a bit too much.

Whatever the case, I think we'll keep seeing Pac fighting old guys like Mosley or Marquez (Marquez is obviously still in better shape than Mosley who is now just plain shot and wouldn't prove a damn thing, but Marquez is still coming on forty years old and has been in tough fight after tough fight in recent years) or guys coming off bad losses. Before he retires he needs to prove something more than what he has so far if people are going to keep calling him an ATG of the caliber that people say he is. As it stands, he doesn't belong with the ATG guys who his fans believe he does.

While a Marquez fight would be good, all it does is prove he can beat a past it version of Marquez while he's still in his prime and that he would always struggle with a prime version. If anyone thinks he's still ins his prime, well, you don't know ****.

Especially if your not willing to fight at Pac's weight of 147. I'm positive Mosley or Berto would do bigger numbers so if Marquez wants a payday then fight the winner or khan/maidani or bradley/alexander.
