Im guessing because Clottey & Margarito have atleast been in there with legit top competition in the past (and have looked decent) which gives them solid ring credibility.

Berto on the other hand just fought a guy who was seeded 10th by the wbc and who's only notable wins were an old Corley.

I would much rather see Saul vs Pac than a third fight between Pac and JMM. I do hope Berto would get the shot though. That would be hot to see...a young explosive fighter who's hungry and wants to prove himself. Berto should definitely be in the mix now of potentional opponents for Pacman.

Let's see if you notice a difference in the quality of opponents faced...

Margarito/Clottey: Mosley, Cotto, Judah, Corrales, Williams, Cintron, each other

            Berto: Freddy Hernandez, Carlos Quintana

            Do you see it?

Marquez>>>>>Berto and even at 147 would give Pacquiao a lot more trouble than Andre would. But I'm sure if Berto ends up being next, the stances of people calling for that fight will suddenly change and Manny will be called a cherry picker and Berto overrated. And the world will keep on turning.

And where are Black Haitians originally from?

Plus Berto was born, raised, learned how to box, and lives in Florida.

Dawg reread my post, I said I want that fight, I'm just not blinded by what I want. It's what makes sense...Berto beat Hernandez, that doesn't open a door to Pacquiao, it doesn't open a door to Mayweather, deal with it.

Berto deserves the fight based on his name recognition and place within the welterweight division alone. Last I checked Marquez got schooled by Mayweather at 147 so why should anyone need to sit through that again? JMM likes to eat punches and a third fight with Pac would be no different.

yeah but Marquez just proved last night that can still beat quality opponents

his last two wins >>> berto's

berto needs to at least be tested against a Mosley before getting in there with Pacquiao
