Look. Berto went in there and did what he was spossed to do as a champion. He defended his belt against a mandatory challenger, and did it in championship calibre fashion. After the stoppage he then calls for elite fighters. What more do you want from the young man?????????? The stoppage was fine, as Freddy bearly knew where he was when the ref instructed him to walk towards him. No need to send him back in there and risk permanant damage, because he cant properly defend himself. If ya'll look back Berto landed that shot while his guard was up. THAT was power and precision, and 10 more seconds in the ring with Berto in that state could have been crucial for him. Ya'll stop cryin bout Berto. He's making the right moves, and calling for the right fights AT 147.

That about sums it up. Berto did exactly what was expected of him. Nothing more, nothing less.

Berto deserves a shot vs Pac before Bradley/Alexander, JMM and Mosley do. Then again it's never about who deserves a shot when Team Pac "picks" a fighter.

Pac has many options of elite and or undefeated "pickings" and I bet we will still hear the name Mosley who hasn't won since 2008.

He just consecutively beat Cotto, Clottey and Margarito. I'd say hes doing a decent job of clearing out 147. Mosley and Berto are the only top WWs left.

"Clearing out" 147? Kind of jumping the gun. He's only had 3 fights at "147". De La Hoya (not ranked), Cotto (#1 WW) and Clottey (#5 WW).

Beating Cotto (after he was already badly beaten) is about the only thing legit Pacs done since "beating" JMM II and I use the word legit loosely as Pac had no problem fighting De La Hoya AT 147 but wanted a "catchweight" vs Cotto to have an advantage. Since then its been down hill and looks to get worse.

Now he wants JMM at 147. All of a sudden he's too big for anything less than 147 and too small to defend his title AT 154.

1. Mayweather at 147.
2. Martinez at 154.
3. Berto at 147.
4. Bradley/Alexander at 140-147.
5. JMM at 140.

Many elite options for Pac yet I bet we will hear either Mosley or JMM at 147.

LOL, exactly the opposite. Berto have just rightcrossed his way out of a possible Pac fight. Last week Aarum was acting as though Berto is a very sound option for Pax, now after the 1st round victiry Arum is singing a different tune, "berto is the hardest fight to sell". God, typical Arum. JMM is the first option, distant second is mosley, but they both fit perfectly in Pac's opponent profile, over-the-hill fighters who were around when Moses was still whipping his israelite people to sleep. god...

The Berto-Hernandez fight odds was at 11 to 1 (as stated by Kevin Iole). That really shows the difference between the two, and the 1 round KO proved it. This fight doesnt do anything for Berto. He should be fighting someone to improve his reputation, and not just his perfect record.

You act like Berto really had a choice herer. It was his mandatory and HBO put a lot of cash in his pocket for it. He DID what was expected. Now its time to step it up. He's asking for it, yet people bash him? Sillyness.

This is no different than Pac fighting his "pickings" of late. Only problem here is he supposed to fighting THE best.... he isn't yet he doesnt get bashed? He's not doing whats expected of him..... Berto is and he's getting bashed. Pac isnt and people give him the blind eye. Double standards.

If you want to get all technical about things than look at it this way. Pac "picked" to fight Clottey who has no fan base, isn't popular and was the #5 WW.

Berto is about the same when speaking of "fan base" but IS the #2 WW. What makes Clottey so different than Berto other than being lower on the WW rankings? Berto>Clottey

I agree that Berto hasn't done much but he must start somewhere and if we get another shyt fight out of Pac, boxing fans will puke. You cant argue that Berto isn't elite or a REAL threat because he's #2 WW, second to Mayweather who beat the #1 WW in Mosley. Berto's no bum, he's young, he hasn't been exposed and he's not coming off a loss. He's undefeated and needs a REAL fight. Unlike BOTH Clottey and Margarito, Berto deserves a fight. If they deserved a shot than Berto deserves a shot. Mosley at this point doesnt even deserve a shot. He hasn't won a fight since 2008.

It seems that anyone who is not cherry "picked" by Top Rank or anyone who is of a REAL (not fictional) threat to Pac gets bashed so easily. lol I don't get it. I think Pacterd fanboys cant take the pressure of being rightfully treated like the Mayweather fanboys. lol It's come full circle.

True **** right here, couldnt hav said it better. There's a lot of Berto bashing goin on but the fact is he deserves a shot b4 any1.(except Floyd of course but highly unlikely to happen) Manny needs a fresh face, sum1 that is not broken, or slow. Berto hasnt been tested yet, but wat better person to test his skills then the best right now?
