Eubanks didn't have the athleticism of Jones to be able to beat Toney. With Toney's defense, countering punching, & solid chin Eubanks would've had his hands full & gotten KO'ed by him. Toney is a vicious body puncher & would punish him to the body stopping him late.

Eubank was vulnerable to a well planned body attack too. Benn and Watson both hurt him with digging hooks to the body. Eubank almost doubled over when Benn got him in their first bout.

Thats why I can see Mike McCallum beating Eubank every single time had they fought, there was talk of them fighting in 91,Eubank had the talent but he was weakened by body shots and nobody had body shots like McCallum,I cant see Eubank getting past McCallum because he was so weakened by body shots.McCallum nails him.And I was always so suprised that opponents didnt go for the body more against Eubank.Thinking about it,if Roy Jones managed to catch Eubank with body shots (remember Hill?) without being caught by Eubank's quality right hand,I dont know if Eubank would get through it.

to be honest about the whole thing Roy Jones at his best could not be James Toney at his best.....but i'm not gonna sit here and tell you how James had to lose 30 pounds in like 2 weeks..........but we all knwo what happened........

Look at Barkley look at Littles look at Prince Charles....man come on we all know Toney was the man at super-Middleweight

but hey JuyJuy man don't stop with the Eubank threads ....if thats your favorite fighter then by all means keep posting em up...i still need to get me a Eubank collection

Roy At His Best Is One Of The Best Lets Be Realistic. Stop Bringing Up These Coulda Shoulda And Woulda. It History. Roy Beat James Toney Flat Out And Why Hasnt Toney Tried To Get A Rematch??? James Toney At His Best Still Would Lose To Roy Jones Jr At His Best.

I Truly Agree, Beside It Already History, And Under Jones Big Bunddles Of Names Of Fighter He Has Beaten James Toney Is On That List. Point Blank, James Toney Even Amitted That Jones Beat Him Fair And Square And That He Was The Better Man That Night, My Honesty Opinion, Jones And Toney Had A Good Fight, But At That Point Jones Out Class Toney, And That's The Bottom Line

dino i dont understnad that comment either Nigel benn would have given anyone fits, up to the G man fight, after that he was just going through the motions, he iced barkely in one in the USA and Mclellan was the number one in the division when they fought and we know what happened there.

Niether Jones nor toney would have relished facing benn at his peak, ont underestimate Nigel based on the post Gman fights against collins et al, different fighter.

benn's legacy was better than eubank in my book for those two wins alone.
