Roy is the closest thing to unbeatable as you can get to 168. And, his win over Toney is better than any win that Froch or Calzaghe has. However, that is pretty much his whole resume at 168. Froch overall resume is much better than Roy is at 168. Calzaghe resume at 168 it is also better. Roy was the much better greater fighter but his resume is very thin beyond the Toney win to be called the GOAT.
He just didn't stay in that division long enough. Shame really cuz nobody could touch him in that division and he could have easily been the GOAT. But, he just wasn't there that long.
Good point. H2H, Roy's the best but not when it comes to resume. Fair enough.
Is Froch resume stronger than Calzaghe resume at 168?
Does Froch have a case to be the GOAT at 168?
Calzaghe's greatness is built on his longevity and 21 consecutive title defenses. It will be tough for any fighter to top that and it is not fair to compare him to Froch at this time.
For now, it is just so refreshring to see a boxer who will take on the best competition one after another and come out unscathed. I actually think he deserves a break, seeing as he has already beaten 4 out of the original super-six participants.
