Comments Thread For: Lemieux vs Rubio WBC Purse Bid Ordered For January 7

As part of it's recent annual conference held in Cancun, Mexico, the WBC sanctioned a final eliminator between current WBC International champion David Lemieux (24-0-0) and Mexico's Marco Antonio "El Veneno" Rubio (48-5-1). However, as the two sides are not able to agree on the place and date for this fight, the WBC's office this morning informed the parties involved to hold a purse bid on January 7, 2011 in Mexico City.

Lemieux by stoppage,I say the fight lasts around 6 or 8 rounds. He's been looking real good in his last fights anyway,I think he should start to step up in competition if he wants a belt.

I would prefer it to be in canada,The fans are great. But david should fight
in the u.s and start building a fanbase like in the east coast in new jeresey.
Canelo is starting to build a fan base in the u.s.But either way imo david
knocks rubio out wheter in canada, mexico,u.s it dont matter.

          Yeah funny stuff.

Wouldnt be suprised if Golden Boy or Top Rank try and outbid GYM for this fight. Fasted way to try and get the US promoting rights to a budding superstar

Lemieux via kayo round 7 or earlier, Rubio is tough.

he can because everyone wants to fight him. Golovkin is willing to come to Mexico, Sturm offered him a fight as well not too long ago. I dont think that eliminator bout is going to happen unless Rubio gets good money
