That's how an A fighter deals with a C+ fighter like Williams. Martinez also whooped Pavlik and knocked out Cintron, something Williams was unable to do.

Martinez would also never lose to a second rate journeyman like Quintana, who Cotto destroyed with ease and even Berto, who sucks imo, was able to stop.

I'm sure Williams will go back to 47' where he can pick on midgets.

I'll bet Winky Wright feels pretty ****** right about now.
You know you're kidding yourself with that comment, that first fight was a really close fight that I gave to Williams.

Cotto beat Quintana by TKO in the 5th but you obviously didn't see the fight because it was not easy. Quintana was giving Cotto problems before getting stopped.

Williams will go back to 147 to pick on midgets? Really, that's why Martinez is waiting to hear offers from those very midgets. Saying he'd knock out Pacquiao and saying he wants to fight him at 154, saying he'd decision Mayweather lol. Why doesn't he say "I would like to fight Felix Sturm"? or why doesn't he go up to 168 and fight Lucian Bute since he's such an A+ fighter? He wants Mayweather and Pacquiao to come up 7lbs to 154 right? why doesn't he go up 8lbs to 168? lol.

What's worse, draining yourself to fight these "smaller guys" or asking these "smaller guys" to come up in weight so you can fight them?

If you scored that fight for Williams, you don't know how to score fights.

        No offense.

Cotto wrecked Quintana, again, no offense.

Martinez is closer in size too all those guys than Williams is.

        5'10 vs. 6'2??

        Again, no offense.

So will fighters think the same as the "fans" and fight Williams now?

IMO, I doubt it. He's still The Punisher and he will still be avoided from 147-160. Martinez is a good fighter, and dumb asses are making his win look like it was nothing, thinking they're doing Martinez any good favors. Give Williams credit for being a good fighter, and give Martinez credit for beating a good fighter. Stop saying some one got exposed or was overrated.
I don't think so. He would struggle more to get fights... or increase his value.

The only thing wrong with that fight was the 119-110 scorecard. Williams rightfully won that fight. You score fights with too much biasness towards your favorite fighter that's why you can't seem to score a fight right.

            You think height matters now!?

So Corrales was nothing but a coward because he was 5'11" fighting at 130?

The 80s-90s Heavyweights ****** because they were getting their ass kicked by a 5'11" Mike Tyson?

Arthur Abraham at 5' 10" doesn't belong in 168 then, he should fight welterweights? You crack me up Jack. You're beliefs are so over the top, it just becomes comedy.

Size is no height, get that straight. Martinez is a Middleweight and wants welterweights to come up to fight him. Williams is going down to their best weight to fight them.

Agreed. At 147 he is too damn big. 154 and 160 I think he can get plenty of fights. Youngster up and comers like Vanes Martirosyan and Erislandy Lara would jump at a chance to fight him. Im sure Pirog would love an opportunity to fight him. Cintron probably wants a rematch.
Williams has always had terrible defense and he just got knocked out cold. Expect more prime, self confident fighters to be looking for him.

Close fight, yes. Martinez definitely gave better than he got, though. I dont see how anyone could argue that.

His chis was destroyed and it won't be the same, also he WAS overrated by some people thinking that he was this incredible beast of boxing. He did deserve to be in the P4P but at max 8 or so. Not like some people had him to be, plus he was a multidivision belt holder

He's still not marketable and after fighting at higher weights for a while, going back down to 147 WILL make him weaker

at 160 he's not a thread, maybe at 154 but he should avoid people like Angulo for a while and get at least 2 easy fights. At 147, don't bother since boxers aren't afraid of him, he's just not marketable and with the KO he just got, he won't get in there with any big names. Martinez' credit goes to the fact that he DESTROYED Pwill the way he did since most expected a war and a late ko-dcn by Martinez but he showed they aren't in the same level.
