Will more fighters step up to the plate and fight Paul Williams now?

He was exposed and was overrated.
This rematch wouldn't have been needed if the judges watched the same fight most people watched the first time around.
Or if the judges didn't rob Cintron of every round.
Williams should have 4 losses right now if boxing was a fair sport.
Any guy who loses to Quintana is overrated, look at Joel Julio ffs. But if Joel Julio had Al Haymon and HBO behind him, we'd all be here making excuses as to why he's not "really" overrated.

Exactly, this wasn't like Pacquiao-Hatton or Williams-Quintana II where Hatton just got outclassed before getting KO'ed cold. Williams and Martinez were going back and forth, catching eachother with clean shots but Martinez got the better of the trading. This was nothing close to a blow out win. It was a good punch that ended the fight.
Martinez is two classes above Williams which is why he won both fights.Comment

I think an even better question is,
will Paul Williams ever want to fight a high caliber fighter again?
Realistically,
his resume is pretty weak.
Martinez and Margarito are the best fighters hes got on there.Comment

I used to think Williams was an elite fighter, but I'm pretty much over the hype now. Look at what Goosen is going to have him do. He's sending him down to 147 to fight guys who he'll tower over and where guys won't be able to reach his chin. If he makes the weight fine, but I think they are trying to mask the fact that he doesn't have the talent to compete at the weight class he originally started fighting at when he began his career which was 160.
To be fair to Paul, I think he could maybe beat a guy like Dzinziruk because he isn't really a power puncher. But anybody who can take what Williams dishes out and has the ability to hurt him will put him to sleep like Martinez did. Real talk. And even if Williams can beat a guy like Dzinziruk, how can we find out when he's moving down to 147? That's a no man's land unless you consider Berto to be that good which I and a lot of other people don't. Long post but just had to get all that out there to give my two cents in this thread.Comment

Paul Williams and Celestino Caballero, as avoided fighters... both myths.
Both are still overrated, though.Comment
