Alfonso Zamora and Daniel Zaragoza were also great fighters at lighter weights.

Zamora was knocking out his first 29 impressively including Panamanian great Pedroza unitl he met Zarate.
Zaragosa victims include McCullough and Hector Sanchez but his wars with Banke are classic.

Sanchez by a mile. He was only 23 when he died. He knocked out legends like Gomez & Nelson. He beat up Laporte, a guy that Chavez couldn't beat & he also beat Lopez. Sanchez is one of my favorite boxers of all time. The guy was a great counter puncher, a great chin & a very good punch. If he would've not died who knows how great he could've been. I pick him over Chavez right now, just imagine he didn't die. This guy won his big fights, unlike Chavez.

but he did get many gifts in his career vs LaPorte, Taylor, Randall and Sweat Pea...

I wouldn't blame him for losing to Sweat Pea though, cuz Sweat Pea is one of the greatest fighters of all time and Chavez was a bit of his prime but still would've lost...

-He was way out of his prime against Frankie Randall...

-From what I hear the LaPorte fight was a big robbery..

-Everyone knows what happened in the Taylor fight...

Other than those fights his biggest wins were over Edwin Rosario and Hector Camacho..

However, the Great Salvador Sanchez who is underlooked by many...destroyed many great fighters...

He had one loss which was VERY early in his career and would have whiped the floor with him in his prime..

He beat Juan LaPorte, he destroyed Wilfredo Gomez, and knocked out a future hall of famer Azumah Nelson...

He was 23 when he died....he could have done so much more in his career if he never died..

                RIP Salvador "Chava" Sanchez

What are your thoughts? Which fighter should be ranked higher?
LaPorte gave Chavez a good fight but it was by no means a "Big Robbery" as you put it.

T6o try and say Taylor was a gift is just plain wrong. Is it his fault Taylor did not answer when questions were asked of him?...NO. Taylor definatley got the worse in that fight and is no brain damaged from the beating Chavez gave him

Sanchez is #1 in my opnion. He was just beyond special. Thisnwouldn't even be up for debate had Sanchez beaten Pedroza.

                Lopez is #3

I think Chavez was overrated & I think Sanchez was great. But for anyone to call both guys suck, then they should never watch boxing again.

By Sanchex beating Wilfredo Gomez..I have to say Sanchez. Because Gomez was the man, Even though Gomez had a bad night and a rematch was suppose to happen but it never did. RIP Sanchez, the greatest Mexican fighter ever.
