As incredible as both fighters are, enjoying the kind of upswing they're both currently enjoying, I don't want to see either one give too much to get a fight made. This would be a dream fight if the weight compromise was within reason, but Martinez said he could make 156, and that's too high for Pacquiao, in my opinion. I'd rather not see it at all than have to hear all the bull**** afterwards about whose weight had what effect on them.

I hear ya, PAC is a legend but if he gets in there with sergio at 154 he will get koed for sure. Unlike Margo who's done, Sergio is in his prime and is talented enough to catch manny. I would actually prefer is he drops it and cleans 140/147 or something like that. Floyd could fight at full 154 and be healthy and an acceptable fight. Now, if Manny does dare and makes it at 154 AND wins...top 5ATG

Yes technically he is. But, common sense is he really? What was the perception of the whole Marg vacant title catch-weight before and right after the fight? What change that perception? Real question when did that perception change? Nobody but some crazy nuthuggers saw him a legit 154 pound title holder.

The Ring nor BoxingScene rank Pac in the top 10, think about that "the 154 pound WBC title holder" is not rank in the top 10 at 154, but all of a sudden now he is a legitimate 154 pound title holder. Just when did that perception change?

Before somebody says he should vacate the belt... He will, is common knowledge that he was going back down to WW. They talked about that ever before the Martinez fight. So not him vacating has nothing to do with Martinez either because that was known that he was going to vacate. He hasn't even had the title for 2 weeks yet. But, he will vacate.

i don't mind catchweights for non-title fights as long as both fighters agree to it. but title fights shouldn't have additional weight restrictions. if pac wants to come in light then thats his business but sergio should be aloud to come in at the weight limit

Now Pac does not have to come in at 154, he can come as low as he likes to keep his speed, but as long as Martinez doesn't come in lower than 154 is fair.

i think if pac losses at 154, it would never taint his ranking at all. i just wanna expose in this thread who agrees on this catchweight and who believes pac is gonna win on 154.

they push pac to fight at 154 when almost everybody know pac will lose. yet if he fights sergio at catchweight, its unacceptable for them.
