    Seriously?
There would be absolutely no reason ever for Mormeck to fight Butterbean. None.

As for the lower weights, there is no reason a grown man should weigh 105 lbs. None. 119 is plenty low.

Well, I don't agree with you, but you explained yourself quite well...

There's a reason we have more weight classes than we used to

Yea but boxing has taken a step backwards when it comes to people watching. Go watch Ali-Frazier 1 and watch Kilt vs Rahman. Look at that hype built up, media and stars attending.

The reason boxing is declining (IMHO) is because of all of the paperweight champions and the way people are jumping all over in weight classes. 130 to 137. Who Cares. 7 lbs one way or another doesn't make that much of a differnce e****ally since fighters weigh in at their weightclass and gain 5+ lbs on fight night.

All the weight classes need to go, all the "Belts" need to go and we do need a national sanctioning body to lead this sport.

Without at least some of these things happening boxing will continue to be a cult sports instead of mainstream like it was 20-30 years or more ago.

I would like to see Mormeck vs Butterbean. If he didn't want to fight him he could drop to lightheavy. Lets not forget Butterbean is a 4 round fighter and not a true boxer so compare apples to apples. Mormeck vs Byrd, why not?

Okay, substitute Valuev or any fighter over 250, then...

There are some classes where nine or more pounds is a huge difference - in the lighter weights to be sure.

Anything over 190 being heavyweight is not a good idea when there are a number of contender-quality fighters around 250. This is why the cruiserweight division weights are played with come contract time...

You take the top 6 boxers from each weight class, and have a tourney

              For example

              Middleweight class
1.Jermain Taylor- Taylor and Hopkins get first round bye
              2.Bernard Hopkins
              3.Winky Wright
              4.Artur Abraham
              5.Sam Soliman
              6.Felix Strum

              Round 1

              Felix Strum fights Winky Wirght
              Sam Soliman fights Arthur Abraham

              Round 2
              Winky Wright fights Bernard Hopkins
              Sam Soliman fights Jermain Taylor

              Round 3
              Winky Wright Fights Jermain Taylor...

We do this every division.. How cool would this be?... I don't watch much football, but they do something like this and our successful.. It would elimate ducking as well.

Nice idea but it would have to be an 8 man tournament. otherwise someone would get a by. example
              Round 1
winky wright/hopkins. (one of them goes to the winners brakcet)
Match 2 Taylor vs.Soliman (One of them goes to the winners bracket and fight the winner of hopkins/wright
              match 3
Abrahm vs sturm. the winner of this would get a by. now you see why it would have to be 8 man to play out correctly.

                Winky Wright vs Feliz Strum
                Arthur Abraham vs Sam Soliman

Round 2 - Jermain Taylor vs Sam Soliman
                Bernard Hopkins vs Winky Wright
