Freddie Roach, trainer for Manny Pacquiao, has responded to the recent claims that were made by Bernard Hopkins. According to Hopkins, Pacquiao has been kept away from top African American boxers who fight with a slick style. Hopkins believes the slick style of a top African American boxer, like Floyd Mayweather Jr., would easily beat Pacquiao. However, the list of possible candidates for Pacquiao's next fight is mostly comprised of top African American boxers.

but for real. hopkins does have a point. Manny should fight someone like Bradley or Berto. Eventhough Berto doesn't deserve it.

But then again, Hopkins comments were counter-productive.

Hopkins shouldn't have mentioned race or color, because he lost all credibility when he did that. Hence why Freddie mentioned Clottey, etc, to counter.

Hopkins should have stuck to style/condition.

Manny does not face fighter's who are on top of their game, and he does not face slick boxers/counter-punchers.

A poster will complain about professional aspects of Manny's career, another poster will reply citing personal complaints about Mayweather.

well, i can name alot of mexicans that have beaten slick black AA fighters...there are more dominant mexicans then any other race in the lower weights below jr welterweights. and anything above welterweight is dominated by european boxers...and those europeans have beaten slick AA boxers.

but in his whole career pac has not fought a AA fighter. i heard they were giving pac a boxing lesson during sparring. roach and arum are not ******. they are not going to put their meal ticket in harms way. unless its for a mega payday.
