Pac dont need Floyd...i dont care if Floyd hides in prison, Floyd needs Pac....not the other way around, Pac already said it
Pacquiao: "If Floyd doesn't accept the fight by January, I will retire"

There are no legit Opponents left for Pac. We don't need to see him fight anymore, his legacy is secure. By making a statement like this, he can kill two birds with one stone. If floyd accepts great, if not.. retire p4p best with an amazing career.
I'd say JMM3 first (if he gets past Katsidis), Moseley, Martinez, Bradley, Alexander and mebbe Khan. Perhaps PWill if he recovers.. 3 years is a long time so who knows who else might emerge. Arum has exhausted all his top rank options so I view all these guys as legit challenges, certainly good enough matchups to support a ppv.
Boxing needs a strong draw and Pac is the guy of the moment, plus he's active in taking fights and entertaining (in the ring). He's reached the pinnacle of the sport and needs to rake in everything that comes with it for as long as he can so long as his health isnt at stake.
If Pac's popularity declines and his ppvs drop below an acceptable amount then I might change my mind, but as long as he's pulling in 1M+ he oughta keep at it. Besides, he does have some unfinished business with JMM and does need to add some African american fighters with a slick style to his resume. Sad because there really werent too many boxers that fit that criteria when he was active in the weight classes in question.Last edited by fatherpain; 11-24-2010, 07:12 PM.Comment

This is what Pacquiao needs to do to make this Mega fight happen. Pressure Floyd. If Floyd doesn't sign, he will be the biggest fraud in history. Pacquaio can then retire, we don't need to see him give Sugar Shot Mosley or an over hyped Berto a bloody beating. Who the F wants to see that?
ThanksComment

This doesn't pressure Floyd. This takes the pressure off. Manny retires......Floyd comes back six months later and get's to fight whomever he wants.

even if Pac agrees but Floyd gets convicted, we still would not have a fight.....
Floyd should stop hitting women first, then stop using the internet for his racist tirade, then stop poking security guards and finally stop trying to run off people from the road....
oh ****, i forgot about the other Mayweather who is also going to prison
i dont think this fight will actually happen...thank God Pac does not need Floyd

Pacquiao has already agreed with that...it's floyd now who has made all sorts of excuses.
Try reading Ross Greenburg's statement about it.
And try reading Pacquiao's statement...
News Pacquiao agrees to drug tests for Mayweather bout
May 23rd, 2010
By Peter Wells: The news weve all been waiting for is finally here, as Manny Pacquiao has agreed to drug tests for a bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Earlier this year the mega fight was canceled due to Pacquiao refusing to take the tests that Mayweather wanted of him. But after both fighters have fought and won since, Pacquiao is willing to take the tests. He will take the blood tests 14 days before the fight, but has some requests of his own. Though is willing to give blood as close as 2 days before the fight.
Pacquiao said that, I have agreed to it, but they should not draw much blood. They should only take what is necessary for the drug test. Pacquiao added, He will no longer have a reason (to not fight), lets see if that is really the reason.
It is now down to Mayweather to agree and hopefully everything else will go smoothly, if not then Pacquiao is likely to end his career against Antonio Margarito. After Mayweather fought Shane Mosley it is highly doubtful he will duck Manny, and for boxing fans sake, make it happen. The fight is expected to be in November and Manny has suggested itll be his final fight. If it is then a win would secure him a legend, while Mayweather insists he wants to clear out the Welterweight division before he retires.
