Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez: I'll Challenge Pacquiao For His 154 Title

When does it end? Many people here thought his peak weight was 130/35. Now things changed and he makes weight well below the minimum without having to cut them... meaning his opponents are 10+ pounds heavier than him come fight night.
Many are wishing for the man's downfall for selfish reason without looking at it from his teams perspective in all aspects. He's accomplished far more than most pro fighters go through their entire career. He now has a full-time job outside beating another man to a pulp. He can say at any time I'm done fighting since there's nothing else to prove, nor can anyone surpass his accomplishments in many years to come.

Tony on the other hand has been a top 5 147er for the last decade and just got to 154. Im sure Tony had no issues make 150 although he said he struggled to make 147, 150 isnt that bad cuz hes been fighting his entire career at 147 basically.
Martinez on the other hand has been at 154 for quite some time and going down in weight will affect him badly
Not only that but although both are the same size martinez is wider and has more muscle mass then Tony.
150 didnt affect Tony, 150 will affect Sergio a lot and Sergio will most likely show up looking like a sexy corpse.
so basically your saying that martinez is bigger than margarito

r u insane?
This is funny, how are u morons even taking this seriously? There is NO WAY this fight is coming off. Dude pac is a human, not super human, not a robot, not a man eating monster, just human. How many other "small welter" weights are jumping up to face a middle weight...that's what I thought. At some point size does matter. Use ur heads. If margacheato at 150 had pac in pain for days what would a middle weight do? U fools must really hate this guy, in one line u call him a lil miget, in the other u want him to step up to the best MIDDLE WEIGHT fighter in the world...u've got to be kidding

Pac is so great that it doesn't matter if he's p4p #1. His opponents should have the advantage in every single department, no matter what.
Pac is Superman.
Forget that we're asking him to do more than any fighter in history.
We're boxing fans.
We feel entitled to the brutal destruction of Pacquiao's body by bigger and heavier men who he has no business fighting save for his own dogged determination and foolish courage.
Pac beats Martinez and then what?
*****s will say that he beat a MW and should have no problem fighting Lucian Bute for the Super MW title.
*****s will keep going until we see Pac-Klitschko.
Their ignorance conceals the fact that Pac will no longer be fighting his opponent's skill as a boxer but instead fighting against his size and physical stature as well.
What a bittersweet thought.

Do you not realize that neither BoxingScene or The Ring rank him in the top 10 at 154? Do you know why? Because, it was bogus title win man.
Why did that perception change in the last 48 hours?
