Yes he has, but Pacquiao should not be in contention. Yes Pac is the king of $$$, but Sergio is too big, too slick, and too sexy for him.

Sergio needs to unify the MW division. Imagine what that would do for his legacy, what it would do for boxing if this happened? Forget Pacquiao and his selective trinket hunting across divisions for a second, do something memorable as well, unify one of the most celebrated divisions in boxing! If you can do that, and your age permits then jump up to SMW and challenged guys like Bute and go for the record books.

It's much more complicated than that. Martinez is a far more natural 154 or 160 pound fighter than Margarito, who had never been above 147 until this year. Arum did let Pac fight Margarito because he would be slow and an easy fight, but he was also not as naturally big as Martinez, you is fitting in without problem at 160. You need to get it through your head that Pac is barely a welterweight, and should not be expected to fight the middleweight champion of the world, just like sane people don't expect Floyd to either. They are at the edge of their weight limit, and no one has any right to criticize them for not fighting the middleweight champion of the world.
