I actually shut the HBO sound off and was listening to music. Those guys are just all over the place with their commentary. They get so one-sided throughout every single fight that they fail to notice anything that the other guy is doing. The only guy I like on their is Emmanuel Stewart, at least he says it like it is for the most part, but he does get caught up in Lampley's blindness once in a while. Merchant's pretty funny at times, but he's like Lampley. He only sees what he wants to see.

Lampley is a puppet. All of his views are mainstream. I dare him to think on his own.

          Good on you.

More people need to tune HBO out. They're worse and worse every year.

They often decide early on who they're going to ride (if they haven't already decided before the fight) and they tend to go on and on about particular observations for so long that something completely opposit of what they're talking about could be occurring, but they're still blabbing away.

They confuse and misguide casual viewers with ther agenda and drawn out observations, and are quickly becoming one of the worst fight commentaries around.

            agree on most points.

to add to tis, HBO is sumtimes inaccurate. Jym said Pacman has neva had a KD past ta 10th when he fought Morales, but it was false. Pacman dropped Barrera in ta 11th round. Those foo sumtimes annoy me. They dissed Pacman. Aggggggggg! lol

I called Lamply a cheerleader when I was in Vegas.

A guy at the fight was telling me about how he was a male cheerleader back in the day, and when I saw him after the fight I yelled "You're a cheerleader Lamply" when I was about 10 feet away. Everyone laughed, including Roy Jones who was right next to him.

He just pretended he didn't hear it, but he did.

I agree; HBO very often tends to be strongly biased towards one side or the other. Of course, we all are biased, but some of HBO commentaries take me aback.

We're not all commentators on television.

HBO clearly serves their own agenda, and it's gotten much worse in the last few years.

I'm not looking to change anyone's minds (still haven't seen the taped fight all the way through), but I did find this interesting excerpt in the ********* write-up:

Unfortunately, Vargas started to show signs of tiring as early as round five and the fight became more a technical battle of attrition. This decline in punch output emboldened Castillejo to increase his offensive maneuvering by stalking and pushing Vargas backwards around the ring.

The remaining five rounds saw Vargas throwing less and less punches as the determined and durable Castillejo outworked him in each round. In his post-fight comments to the ringside press, Vargas attributed the decline in his workrate and lackluster performance on fatigue that was associated with weight loss. Vargas stated that he felt "sluggish" and he mentioned the possibility that his jaw might be fractured.

The judges were all very generous to Vargas, giving him a wide margin of victory. Much wider than most fans and reporters in attendance thought it was, as evidenced by the huge outpouring of boos heard as Vargas was proclaimed the winner, and even more boos as he exited the ring.
