it makes more sense to just fight Oscar again & ca$h in & establish a big retirement fund, maybe start up Feroz Promotions or somethin' like that

Agreed. Nando looked good early but just got progressively worse as the bout went on. It's bad when Castillejo, who is a solid fighter but is past his best, is almost landing combos at will on you after you've already cleaned his clock.

El Feroz of today isn't the same as the El Feroz of yesterday.

Vargas's problem is he bought into his own hype that he could be an all time fighter. Losing to trinadad and de la hoya should not have been seen as a setback, but as a reality check. He did not need to reinvent his style in response considering he beat many great fighters with it including quartey. He looked completely out of place trying to box and let a game but waaaaaaay over the hill castillejo hang around. Vargas should just fight his natural style. He does not have the skill set or the mentality to become Floyd Mayweather any more than Mayweather could have imitated Vargas's former style

jus cuz he didn't KO the guy doesn't mean anything. i mean his stamina is much better. his defence tho is dumb, cuz u gotta be MAD fast for that like PBF.

and he always leans to the right, so anyone can jus land the overhand right. and also, should only do that on the ropes. fake both ways, and get out of there.

he has sum things to work on, but i dont think hes that bad.

So I'm not the only one to think this. Wow!

El Feroz is lucky he fought Javier, who was there for a paycheck. Javier was slow, almost too timid. Had no killer instinct. And he fights like an old man. He's technically a sound fighter but he's slow.

And the old man borked El Feroz's fragile jaw, after it was busted up and nearly borked by Trinidad and ODLH. (Borked = broke )

His defense has improved but without his offense he's gonna get killed by Ouma, Karmazin and Winky Wright. Hell, a 140 lb Mayweather will destroy him.

El Feroz should save up his money and retire. I like his clothing line, BTW.

Yeah Mayorga would be a bad matchup for Vargas. But Mayorga is terribly over rated, hopefully mostly everyone sees that. Its a bad matchup for Vargas because of his wild agressive style and his power is still very good.

It might be a bad match up if the wild Mayorga can connect. Like I said in another thread, if Mayorga fights Vargas like he fought Piccorillo, he's gonna lose. Vargas may be battle worn but those wild punches that Mayorga telegraphs will be all too easy for Vargas to avoid. But that thing is, Mayorga just needs to land one big one it could be all over. Vargas doesn't need Mayorga, though.

If Vargas keeps fighting Mayweather style he has a good chance of Beating aging De la hoya

DLH is the natural boxer. And I think his father taught Mayweather that who shoulder roll and as you knock Floyd's pops is in DLH's corner.

Anybody know anything about Vargas' trainer?
