Nando used to be a very entertaining interview, now he mumbles and grunts and groans after the fights when he talks to Larry Merchant...

in all seriousness, it's getting very sad, I can see this guy being going down the Meldrick Taylor route very shortly, Nando was a great prospect in the late 90's but he has deteriorated tremendously from his 2 KO losses

Vargas looked good against castillejo! he actually hurt Javy more then oscar did.

Vargas was mumbling because he Got his Jaw broken! go rewind that interview and you can hear larry say something about you can see the swelling too.

I personally think hes chosen a more defensive style so he wont have to take punches in brawls. Just my opinion.

I never sid he didn't "look good" in the ring, I thought he fought a smart, skilled fight....but his verbal skills are going down the toilet, which is the 1st sign of pugilistic dimentia....

watch an interview (pre or post fight, doesn't matter) from recent time, then compare it to his interviews following the Quartey & Thompson fights, and then try to tell me that he doesn't sound punch-drunk....

did you ever see Rid**** Bowe's post fight interview after the Golota rematch??? That's what last night reminded me of when Nando was talking

De La Hoya is a shell of his former self, too. This is a good, big - budget matchup (DLH-Vargas II, which the program said could happen if Fernando won), but not the best 154 lbs. has to offer...

He even said after the fight that the fans "want me to go to war, but I'm not gonna do it."

He is a boring fighter now. Sad, because he used to be really fun.

Hell, De La Hoya talks slower too, Tito stutters his spanish, after Corrales gets KO'd watch how slow he talks. Even the great Mayweather slurs at times. Pernal Whitiker you can barely understand him at all. Its boxing buddy. Those who still talk the same are lucky

It would DEFINITELY be a big-$$$ promotion, about $20mil to Oscar and $10mil to Nando, maybe more if the PPV #'s go abouve 1 million....

I know I'm being a little too concerned here, these guys are "just boxers" after all, but nando is 1 clean punch away from serious health problems, and I've been a fan of his since I saw his pro debut on Tuesday Night Fights years ago, and i want him to make it thru his career without soundin like Tommy Hearns or Meldrick Taylor at the end of the day....

GOOD CALL, i think Mayorga is a bad match-up for 'Nando, if one of those big overhand rights landed clean on Vargas' noggin he'd be out COLD....

it makes more sense to just fight Oscar again & ca$h in & establish a big retirement fund, maybe start up Feroz Promotions or somethin' like that
